Wow, thanks for reminding me not to give up too fast xD I never really worked on lip trills because I always thought I'm just not able todo them. But after you said you've never met anyone who can't I've tried again and literally got it within 2 Minutes *_*

They laughed at me at Praise and Worship practice doing my trill practice through an entire song...until they tried it and saw how much it helped. 🤷🏽♀️Trill on!!

YES!!! I feel u! I had a similar experience of being laughed at by church choir members (back in my college days), only to eventually start leading warmups (complete with trills 😌) before every rehearsal 😆.

I trill through songs during our practice too! It helps so much. My range has expanded, but more importantly, my intonation is spot on and I don’t tense up. Listen to Eric, he knows what he’s talking about.

Bottom of my tongue is attached to the tip. Literally have no excess with which to trill. Thanks for the lesson, but it can't help me. Good luck to the rest of you.
@hanonym65844 жыл бұрын
@@Zeshen The tongue does not really matter when lip trilling. I tried to do it with my tongue in different positions (stucked to the bottom, stucked to the palate, rolled up, rolled down...). Press your lips together (not too hard) and force the airflow through them. They should vibrate. It is a different thing from "rolling your r's" like in east-european languages. Your tongue does not vibrate. Hope it helps

I was learning to sing a new song, and my girlfriend is trying to get me to help her sing. Then your name randomly popped into my head after literally about 8 years! I used to watch your videos in college, and it’s so cool to see you’re still here growing and doing an awesome job helping people as an online vocal coach!
@bostonkpm20614 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric! I was a KZbin follower and student of your vocal instruction at least 10 yrs ago. Unfortunately, I stopped working as a performer and took care of my parents until they transitioned. The last time I sang in public was at their going home service. And that was 8 years ago. Well after, Kobe and his beautiful daughter perished, I said to myself....That's it!!! Time to return to my first true love ....performing. Oh, the pipes, the pipes are totally clogged and I was lost as to where to begin....until this afternoon! I am so glad to see you in the que. I almost didn't recognize you, until it occured to me that it has been awhile since I last "saw you" needless to say I am overjoyed to see you are still passing on great and useful knowledge. Happy to be back in class. Your Boston student and fan of your style,technic, and personality! God Bless you 😇

I knew I was doing them completely wrong when my tongue was making all the noise and movement with my lips. I just couldn’t get my lips to do the trill or movement independently. Then when watching your video, I had more of an understanding and got my lips to do a trill instead of my tongue. Ok, this is going to take work. That’s okay. Thank you for helping me here!

Hi Eric! I wanna ask you what is the purpose of havin an "uh" sound when doin the liptrills? Is it to keep the throat relaxed? Sometimes when I liptrill it sounds amazing and even feels fun! I can also feel how sound is "up and forward". But most of the times when I do liptrill (or singing in general) I feel the sound is so choked, and by tongue is like falling back into my throat making my voice sound muffled and distorted. Even my breathing is ruined. What is goin wrong with me?
