I did a decluttering when I had to confront my fantasy self. It was years. I won. However, another demon emerged and I didnt realize how devious it was. I call it my wishfull thingking self. Its very covert. Its very quiet. And so I recently moved, and all these items I found made me realize it was something I had been hiding because it was wishfull thingking. So, another layer of confrontation. Let them things go. Its amazing how many layers are in your psyche that from consumerism has added on to your mind. I am winning the battle over the wishfull thinking. What are my tools and weapons to fight? Being a realist, basic and simpleness. Being true to me. You would be surprised how much of those layers of mindless consumerism has enslaved your mind and your life.

I have decluttered so much that there really nothing left. I oddly miss those big purges.

the 1 in 1 one rule helps so much, It has helped me to keep my inventory manageable. Also getting rid of duplicates.

Really needed to hear this because my temptation to buy a lot of “wants” because I’ve been influenced by social media to buy unnecessary items that I could truly live without. Trends come and go we get bored of things. We spend so much of our time and energy earning money, it’s not worth wasting it away. Appreciate you a lot Kyra ❤

Your videos give me so much peace. I’m from Connecticut and living in North Carolina right now on my own in my first apartment. It’s been baby steps on furniture but you help me so much in deciding a functional necessity versus wants.

Totally agree with buying good quality real wood. My dinner table is about 9 years old now and still looks brand new. So my lounge has all real wood too. Thought I had ruined my coffee table last week as spilt nail varnish remover on it. Went all grey. But ironed it for one minute and it’s back to perfect ! 😊

I appreciate you so much, Kyra! I need to do a digital declutter so bad on both my laptop and my smartphone... and my Gmail, my goodness! I've had mine since I was 19ish. And I'm in my mid 30s now! It is PACKED!

Tbh the furniture I’ve gotten (usually second hand) that was originally from ikea has lasted longer than the natural wood furniture. I live in a climate where mould is an issue and it takes a lot of work to keep the wood clean

Unfortunately there will no longer be any more cleaning videos on my channel. I want to focus on minimalist content only these days. I feel like with me adventuring out into other content killed my channel in the past so I’m trying to stick to one niche for now on in hope to revive the channel. Thank you for being here 🤍

@@Living.minimal yes , that’s very unfortunate but wherever makes you comfortable to get back with your channel. I’ve followed you for quite sometime and thanks to you I am a minimalist. Just missed the cleaning and cooking videos . Hope one day you’re up for those again . Best of luck
