St Theresa of Calcutta was often criticized for leaving the poor unattended while she prayed. But she said If you don't go to the well to fill your glass you cant give someone a glass of water to drink. It was a good answer.

Fr. Seraphim, I recently found you/Mull Monastery here on KZbin and I'm extremely grateful to have learned some valuable lessons taught by you. That parable you mentioned about the man who needs to be with his new wife and the man who has a new field to plow, etc I've heard that before from 2 other priests as well saying these are "good things" and yet those people did not choose the best of all (Christ), and how that should "alarm" or warn us but it seems so ambiguous about what that actually means in real life. I listened to this tonight and thought that perhaps that parable is talking about people whose hearts aren't really in it. They sound like excuses, but good excuses. Kind of like excuses I may give to myself when I don't want to go to church. And they also sound like they are important reasons, but not urgent reasons, (why does the guy really need to be with his wife and furthermore why doesn't he just bring his wife?? Does the field really need to be plowed at that very moment?) Whatever keeps me from taking the Holy Mysteries should be a matter of urgency (I'm at the hospital with a sick child) and not just simply importance (I really have to finish this paper for school). It's a matter of our hearts I think. Lord have mercy on me and my divided heart at times.

I thank God for sending you into the world father Seraphim to bless us with your loving kindness by which you teach and help us to get in greater oneness with God our one Holy trinity....And - forgive me for what i am going to write now- in my heart i feel that keeping you amongst people is what protects you from getting inprisoned in the depressions you often suffer( as i understand from what you share with us on yt..That is how Christ our Lord protects you, imho...Be blessed father

🎉Upon a dark night, with yearnings of love inflamed. Oh happy venture, I went forth without being noticed, my voice being now becalmed. Oh, night that guided me, oh night more beautiful than the first pure light. Beloved ( Can't remember the rest. Written by St. John of the cross. )

Father Seraphim has a truly remarkable, clear grasp of the Word and it is a privilege to get to hear his sermons and commentaries via this channel. They are another aid in navigating through this increasingly darkening world as Christians.

31:15: "Orthodoxy itself can become an idol." Exactly that is what drives certain Orthodox believers to often self-righteously criticize and condemn dear Father Seraphim. May God bless Father Seraphim for his love, kindness, wisdom, and warmth.

Father, I am happy you've returned to us. I've always found your profound humbleness strike a particular chord with me. I look at your spiritual maturity and see a possible future me. I can see you're also laden with sin, and this is what makes you a realistic role model. Please pray for me, (My initial is T) I need a spiritual father desperately. I am without a solid connection to the church due to my location. I haven't even become a catechumen yet, even after a year or so. I wish you were near me, I ressonate with most of all of what you say, I hope God will give me a spiritual father who I share a similar connection with, or perhaps He will give me a spiritual father with a new way of thinking which would be more beneficial to me. Sincerely, peace from Australia.

Dearest Father Seraphim, bless! ☦️ A blessed Feast of Theophany to you and my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ on Mull and Iona! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Thanks be God for bringing you to the states to deliver this urgent and essential message, and with such honesty and clarity. I know I’m going to be replaying it over and over in my heart in the coming days, contemplating all the things I need to reveal to my spiritual father. May God bless and keep you, and may your winter in the Hebrides be peace-filled and restorative. I miss all of you so very much! ♥️

Very important words for American Christians who have tied their faith to political parties ❤

Fr. Seraphim raised very important points that are overlooked by Christians. Putting Christ at the centre of our life is critical to our faith, regardless of our situation. That, and actually following Christ are both very difficult to do so. A very good talk. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦.

I really hope we all may heed your words, Father. I wonder if your audience there in Colorado understood the radicalness of your statement that one can make an idol of one’s own virtues. We truly live in idolatrous times. As James Joyce wrote in FW, “the war is in words and the wood is the world.”
