Mindfulness is a psychological state in which a person directs his attention to the present moment, to the “here and now.”
This is the ability to notice your thoughts, emotions and physical sensations without giving them special meaning, but simply observing them without the desire to change anything.
Mindfulness training can be helpful for the following reasons:
• Life management. Mindfulness allows you to choose the best, most effective solutions and ways to achieve your goals.
• Maintaining composure and self-control. This reduces the number of impulsive, rash actions with destructive consequences.
• Getting more joy and pleasure from life.Practicing mindfulness helps you learn to appreciate small joys and achievements that previously slipped away.
• Improved overall quality of life. With regular mindfulness practice, emotional stability, self-control, and the ability to better understand your thoughts and feelings will increase.
• Improved interpersonal relationships. Thanks to awareness, you can better listen and hear your interlocutor, and show more compassion.
• Improved physical health. Some studies show that the use of mindfulness practices improves physical symptoms in the adjunctive treatment of a number of medical conditions.
It is important to note that developing mindfulness is an ongoing process; there is no universal method for improving this skill.
