How To Livestream in Facebook Groups With Zoom [Step-By-Step]

Facebook is getting rid of 3rd party apps for live streaming into Facebook Groups. No problem! This video shows you exactly how to use Zoom's Live Streaming App (not to be confused with Facebook's 3rd party Apps). It's easy to set up - just follow the steps.

Livestream Into Facebook Groups With Zoom: Post
1. Enable Zoom in TWO places
--► Settings - Zoom Apps - ✅ Zoom Apps Quick Launch Button
--► Settings - Meeting - In Meeting (Advanced) - Livestreaming - ✅Custom Live Streaming Service
2. Start your Zoom meeting.
3. Click on the "Apps" in Zoom and search for the "Live Streaming" App.
4. Set up a custom live stream channel using details from Facebook's Live Producer by following the next steps
5. Go to your Facebook group, click on post and click "Live Video," copy the Stream Key and Server URL from the Facebook Live Producer.
6. Paste the Stream Key, RTMP URL, and the Facebook Group URL back into the Zoom live streaming settings, add a stream label, and save the setup.
7. Start streaming on Zoom, then go to Facebook Live Producer and add the necessary details for your live stream, such as title and description.
8. Click "Go Live" on Facebook to start broadcasting there.
9. To end the stream, simply click the End Streaming on Zoom, and Facebook should automatically stop the stream as well. (Best to double check)
Note: The next time you want to livestream, you do not need to add the Keys again.
All you have to do is:
✴️ 1. Choose a post in your facebook group, click “Live Video” and Click “Go live” this takes you to Facebook’s Live Producer page, double check you are streaming into the right group, add post details and then
✴️ 2. Start your Zoom meeting and click [Apps], choose Live Streaming, and then toggle on the group you want to stream into (you may have it set for just one) and click Start Streaming. When you see the message in Zoom that you are streaming
✴️ 3. Go Back To your Facebook Live Producer page and click the blue button that says “Go live”.

9:14 Hello thank you so much for sharing this info. I’m getting stuck on step 3 when I try to add the live streaming app in Zoom. The circle keeps spinning and it never finishes. Has anyone else run into this issue? I’ve tried this both on the PC and on the MAC.

Hi @chippinard2556, the "Add A Channel" option only shows up after you click APPS (on the Zoom control strip - where it has share screen, etc.). You hsould have the Live Streaming App added and as long as you have the Zoom permissions toggled on, it should show up. If for some reason it isn't. I highly recommend watching my Troubleshooting video kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3bHhnuLjbJ7o9U which bypasses the need to Add A Channel altogether. Please let me know if it works for you. Hi @hieuinspire , If you don't see "Add A Channel" then you don't have the Zoom Livestreaming App added. I recommend watching this troubleshooting video to set up your Zoom meeting an alternate way where you do not need to add the CHANNEL. Here is the link to that video. @deborahhriley5320, yes it should work using this recurring meeting set up and Zoom’s live streaming app. Set up an app for each meeting. You can also add KZbin and other platforms to stream into all at the same time. Test and let me know how it goes!🚀

Hi @AntoinetteThibodeaux-Corrigan, her are a couple things to try in Zoom: First make sure you have a paid Zoom account, check your Zoom App (not the browser but the App) to make sure it is up to date. Then restart your computer and try again by going to Settings > Meeting > In Meeting (Advanced) > Live Streaming > Custom Live Streaming Service and toggle the swtiches on for the App and the Custom Livestream. We are somewhat new to hosting livestreaming on a facebook group and it happens to come right when they change it! So, we are new to using outside systems but when using Zoom, do you need to have a paid account in order to have the "allow livestreaming of events" option to appear? When we are in the advanced meeting settings, it's not there. Thanks for the help!

Hi @dougmoore7424, YES you do need a paid Zoom account in order for the live streaming feature to work. I have the Zoom Pro account which is about $150 USD a YEAR. (I think they have amonthly pay option.) Hope that helps! And welcome to world of live streaming on Facebook!🥳

Sure, @JenniferBolus-zo3kq ! First a question for you, is the custom live streaming box checked on your Zoom settings? Often that's the issue. Ifnot, then the problem most people have with the app not working is having the Zoom meetings set to specific dates and time and this set up using Zoom's the live streaming app method works best for recurring meetings. No problem… I created a troubleshooting video that shows how to set it up for specific meetings. You have to add the rtmp URL and keys for each scheduled meeting, but it's really easy. @SovereignAFpodcast , ahhh, try turning off extensions or apps (there have been problems with the duckduckgo app/browser). I use chrome and I think Safari works fine. Also check your Zoom app for updates. (The Zoom App - not the browser). Make sure chrome is also up to date. Do all this, restart your computer and see if that jumpstarts everything! :)

I keep getting "Error: Failed to connect to Zoom services". I've refreshed my screen, logged out of both zoom and fb, and restarted my laptop. I'm. It sure what to do next. I did notice that when it shows the channel, the name of my fb group does not show up, like it does with yours.

Hi @SindyKuehnel, my apologies for not mentioning this in the video but Zoom's free plan does not have a live streaming option. You would need one of the paid plans. I have the least expensive one and it works great (~$16 USD/month or $150 USD/year). Do you have a free or paid Zoom account?

@@highticketsindy the best option is to schedule a recurring meeting and add the keys and fb group & rtmp URLs to that recurring meeting. That way you can start it any time and it will be set up to stream as long as you create the Facebook post and get into your live producer area. 🎉

Hi @space.whisperer, if you just now changed the settings to custom livestreaming, you may have to log out of Zoom (and facebook - just to be sure) and log back in again.
