This is great! Just picked up a 500cm & your tutorial was the best because you took it slow & weren't flipping the film back one side then the other like many do. If you're new to the Hasselblad film system, this is perfect because you can easily follow along. Thanks again!

THANK YOU. This is the only video that explains why the old backs not show the numbers. The "trick" at 6:00min was the holy gral for me. Thank you pretty good video and helpfull :)

Just came from another tutorial after I accidentally spun through all of my film because I'm using the same old back as you. Thanks for giving a tutorial relevant to me!

A rather important tip is to make sure the camera body is also showing white in the little window (shutter wound on). I missed this point and lost the first frame of film because I didn't check!

I just got my Hasselblad 500 C/M and it has this old 500 C back, so I made exactly the mistake you mention of winding the film until it was all used up, waiting for a number "1" to appear. My first mistake! Let's hope I don't make many more. The good news is, I have a spare 120 film to practise loading up my developing tank! Thanks for this video. I'm not sure what I'd have done without it!

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment Edward! Sorry to hear about that mistake, but at the end of the day, mistakes are one of the quickest ways to learn. :) Keep us posted with how your other roll goes!
@edwardgrabczewski2 жыл бұрын
@@Filtergrade Cheers Matt. The other roll went well. It's pretty scary when you're doing this for the first time, knowing that if the camera locks up then you're stuffed! I watched a few videos beforehand so I got the jist - only I didn't know about this early film back. I took a few photos in the garden: I have a question: I'm on shot 6. Is it okay to leave the camera and magazine ready to fire (white indicators) if I don't use it for a few days?
@Filtergrade2 жыл бұрын
@@edwardgrabczewski Yes, that's ok, but if you bump the shutter button it will fire so keep it in a place away from people. I've done it before though and didn't run into any other issues from leaving the camera for a few days.

Hi! I have a doubt. I have loaded a Kodak portra 400 in the camera and I have turned as you have indicated. I have not seen number 1 and number 2 has appeared, does it mean that I have lost a photo? Thanks

Which older film back model is this? Does the A12 model need the same wind and manual stop method that you demonstrate?

Do you have to remove the entire film back or can you just remove the cartridge insert?
