No electronic lock? I was considering importing one of these to Japan but as bikes aren't allowed to be locked to objects here (biike parking is just an open space where bikes need to stand on their own) this is a no go ;(.

Most people won’t challenge someone cutting a lock. For all they know it’s their lock and they lost the key. They have alarms that sense motion and even locks now that connect to an app and tell you

The name of the game is to deter criminals as much as possible. The likelihood that a thief will steal a bike on a busy street is far less then on a quiet street. And you're right motion sensing alarms are also a great tool to deter thieves. Stay safe 🙌⚡
