I especially love that red top and pants on you! One tip I’m learning to use more often is to show just a little skin - push up long sleeves; undo the top button on a shirt or shirtdress; try a V neck. It looks relaxed and shows off the smallest points on the body. Great tips!

Such GREAT tips!! I had a hard time (years later) realizing that I don't need nice "work" clothes now. It has taken me 5 years to stop drifting toward the professional wear in stores! I get my dressy "fix" dressing up for church, but I don't need the office wardrobe now that I'm retired. Took a long time on that one! And yes, it has to wow me, or I'm walking away. Good point about matching tops to jackets. The pictures are the perfect illustration of how this works. Knowing our lifestyle and what we really do day to day, living our real life, can be a good way to move things on that no longer suit our current life. Easier said than done, but it can be done!!

You are so correct in the fact that some brands use the same colors (you said Indigo blue) but I'm thinking of Chicos and how I bought a sweater and jacket combo yesterday in Razzle Red. I know that they both will match each other even though they weren't intended to be a set. I don't often wear red but I love the red pants and top you bought, so I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone for the holidays and wear red.

Donated to the project that helps out all people. Men women and kids. It's a hand up not a handout is there mooto 😊 they have a thrift store . Really nice clean and newer unused clothing. our clothing and other items went there last week. I can't believe all the things I didn't wear taking up room in our closet snd dresser drawers. Thanks to your previous advice. We're getting ready for Christmas holidays. We're seniors now. We just give our Sons gift cards these days. Christmas shopping 🛍 to much work now. Been there done that. We do give a couple of special gifts to though its all 👍 good. It's our kids turn to be running around Christmas shopping 🛍. Great tips Cathy! I recently did a major closet purge. It was an eye opener for sure. I have so many prints, which I love and wear but I could now see where the “holes” in my wardrobe are. I am lacking some basics. I know so many organize by color but I organize by temperature 🥵. Sleeveless, short sleeves, long sleeve, vests, sweaters etc. It seems my post menopausal wardrobe is driven by temperature 😂

Great tips, thanks! I went through my closet the other week and put all my long sleeves tees together, organized by colour. I have 11 long sleeves black tees 😂 I set two aside as my better ones and relegated the others to kickaround shirts. As I wear and wash them I decide which ones I’ll keep vs. donate. Definitely a great idea to know what you have!

Cathy-Boot suggestion-BOC brand. I have the Brogan boot. Great for wider calves. The chunky heel is very stable. Lots of support. There’s a very subtle elastic panel at the top so they don’t feel tight. Lmk what u think!!

Cathy we were taught in fashion school that black navy blue tan and gray were neutrals everything else was color. Now with that said clothes make you feel good the color does something to your brain,same with wall colors ~I look bad in dark colored and sometimes depressed. But for the holidays I bought a fancy black tone on tone dress I’ll try again. Ha ha. Also better clothes fit better so less is more. Me s suits lay better when they are made of good fabric this is only my experience God bless Chris

My Mum always used to say "it's not a good deal if you won't wear it." e.g., if it doesn't fit, isn't *really* your style, doesn't suit your colouring or body-type keep the money in your wallet for something else that really will be a wow piece.

I think you could wear tan on the bottom and a color that looks good on you around your face. I do that with the colors that don’t look great around my face. Because your skin does change as you age. I need to switch my clothes from summer to winter. I’ll do it this week. And I’m going through my shoes also. I have a few shoe racks. I gave one to my husband. And I have shoes on it too. So I’m going to pare down everything in my closet. I usually save it for my granddaughters. And two should be coming in a few months. So whatever they don’t want I will donate what’s left to Goodwill.
