Thanks for the video. I read through the comments and wa ted to leave my own that may help others. The yarn size you need is either: 2 strands of 4 (worsted weight) 1 strand of 5+ (bulky) If you dont know how to crochet just use a slip knot to get started. The cast off is a double crochet. You can actually take your crochet hook and push it through while on the peg and then take it off and repeat. If you don't know how to crochet this is hard. You, can find any scarf video that uses a loom cast off and it will be easier to finish. I used a number 8mm crochet hook for my cast off to go with my number 6 super bulky yarn. If your hook is to small or big it won't look right. It depends in your yarn size. You need more than a couple inches to cast off. At a minimum you need 24inches to 36 inches. Don't tie and snip leave 2 to 3 inches and weave your ends in. For a toddler or small child you need at least 144 yds of yarn. Approx 2 balls Teenager, or small/short women - 231 yds or approx 3 balls Tall man or heavy set person (or you want a long scarf) approx 304. yds or 4 balls of yarn If your cast off looks odd you can easily hide it with fringe/tasles (not my preference). Thanks for the great video. It was slow and easy to follow.

Very good instructions. However, the casting off method using crochet hook can be very tricky to avoid creating reduced width/gauge to the end of the scarf. I found that when using bulky yarn I needed extra chain stitches to avoid pulling (reducing) the length of edge of scarf. So, the common cast-off method (no crochet hook needed) may be preferable method.

Instead of pushing the loops down one peg at a time with the loom hook, run your finger through the middle of the loom across. All the loops on both sides of the loom are pushed down all at once.
@Thesweetestjourney6 жыл бұрын
I wish I could do that with my loom, it would save me time, but the pegs have indentations at the top, like a hook, and because it's plastic, the yarn gets stuck easily. I have to unhook one by one because if I forcibly push them down, the pegs end up tearing at the yarn.
