This is a great tutorial. I've learned that peg count doesn't matter just the actual size of the loom. So any little loom could work. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I didn't know that until you said it, THANK you! I have a loom that small but with twice as many pegs, now I can try this (just with smaller yarn I suppose), and am expecting my first baby soon!

I have just made some for my grandson and I started off with the drawstring cast on and worked it that way. It did close up lovely.

A better way to close it I think, would be the drawstring cast off 😊

On the cast off where you go to the left I have to go right. Being right handed its easier. Love this video its so simple. Good because I have a great-grandson born in Aug. another one in Feb and a grandson next May. Gonna be busy. Thank you for these video's

Hello Would a 20 peg loom do for child 4 and 5 years ?? Or get a 24 peg one ?
@ArtyCraftyCA2 жыл бұрын
I honestly do not know - I don’t have a 20 peg loom. A 24 peg loom is used for adults, I believe. Please keep me posted if you end up trying with a 20-peg loom. Good luck!

If I was going to use a thicker yarn instead of the worsted weight yarn would you recommend a 5 or 6 yarn? I find it easier to work with stand verses two
@ArtyCraftyCA6 жыл бұрын
If you're using a thicker yarn, you don't need to use 2 strands. Thanks for watching!

Can i make this on 16 peg mini rectangle loom?
@ArtyCraftyCA3 жыл бұрын
Yes but you would likely have a bigger pair of mittens
@jeridawnchamberlain73275 жыл бұрын
So i used the bigger yarn one strand bernat and my mitten is alot bigger im making for a new born how can i make it smaller with bigger yarn do less wraps
@ArtyCraftyCA5 жыл бұрын
You may try that, I suppose. Doing less wraps only decreases the length, not the width though.
@iustitiaautemresistis29035 жыл бұрын
Try different yarn they make something that is between the width of red hearts and bernats with the same feel as bernats. I saw it at walmart the other day so I am sure most arts store will have it.

@ArtyCraftyCA5 жыл бұрын
I personally haven’t tried, but I guess you can give it a go. However, I think it would be too big for a newborn.

how would I do this if I want to make some for preemie babies?
@ArtyCraftyCA7 жыл бұрын
+Lindsay York unfortunately, I think these are too big for preemie babies and the 12-peg loom is the smallest that I know of. I guess you'd have to crochet the mittens for preemies.
@ToddCarnes4 жыл бұрын
@@ArtyCraftyCA You could try a small gauge adjustable sock loom and some lighter yarn.

I enjoyed the whole video all except the end when obviously all you needed to do was a drawstring bind off
@kristinep_xo57584 жыл бұрын
This is too loose for my liking and it would’ve been nice if you mentioned that this was for left handers.
@ArtyCraftyCA4 жыл бұрын
I suggest use a thicker yarn. And it’s not for lefties - I’m not a lefty. This is neither for a lefty or a righty. You may start your project either clockwise or counter-clockwise, the end result will be the same.
@tracig29824 жыл бұрын
KRISTINE P_XO I'm left handed & I go in the other direction, this is not a left handed video. Either way, you can choose the direction you prefer. Whatever is comfortable for you. 😊🌻

Donna Clift - Hey, you can change the playback speed of any video. Top right of screen, look for 3 dots. There you slow down or speed-up playback.
