what do you do with the power steering pressure switch on the first piece you discarded? what do you do with the electrical that plugs into that switch? does it set off a cel?

Is looping it a safe method? I heard somewhere that no ps on a ps car it will overheat and lock up or something. Before looping should l fill with ps fluid or whatever is left in the rack is fine?

I haven’t had issues over time but I guess it depends on the condition of the rack prior to doing this. I recommend a manual rack swap if your worried about failure. Manual racks actually feel way better anyways

Key2 TheUniverse The headlights will be replaced some day but I plan on restoring these the best I can when it comes down to that point

@@JomsF that's not what I said. However it does have absolutely nothing to do with power steering besides being a steering component. You probably have a racing steering wheel not a giant oversized wheel ( which would make it easier to turn) if you think the wheel is gonna change anything power steering related you shouldn't be working on cars period.

Did it work out? I get what ur saying about the steering wheel, it does matter, an oem wheel would be easier to get a better grip to turn hardly, versus a quick release that would probably break/ bend with too much hard force

Just a thought cause I heard couple people say that they looped the rack through the OEM reservoir. Is that possible?

Yes you loop the reservoir i do it this way so that it looks cleaner without the reservoir or anything there.

D_series_maniac Yea easiest way is to do it with looping into the reservoir. But the easiest way is to do it otherwise is when the engine is out or head is off..

Knock all those metal shavings into your rack. Use a vacuum hose for corrosive power steering fluid. High pressure output direct to low pressure input on an incorrect hose, don't drain the excess fluid. Got it. It's' funny how Honda heads have a rep for not knowing wtf they're doing or having any common sense.

The manufacturers dont make money by making simple things. .. there is no reason for a compact to have power steering.
