How To Loosen a Garage Spring (with no previous experience)

The scariest part of any garage door repair or remodel is definitely taking down the garage spring. My friends were super skeptical and didn't want to try it but after watching a video where someone demonstrated what to do, I thought it would be a breeze. I was right. Taking down garage springs is super easy. Yes, there is still some risk and you should take safety precautions, but it is really pretty easy all things considered.
