I love running, it makes my mind feel so calm for the rest of the day. I don't really enjoy weight lifting, so I mostly just do some pushups and pullups every other day to give my upper body some kind of stimulus. It works and I'm okay with not being super buff.

What's really cool about mixing resistance training with fat loss is how it goes beyond just changing numbers on a scale-it's about personal transformation. When you start to see those changes, not just in muscle tone but also in how you carry yourself, it's a huge boost to your self-worth. It’s like, you’re not just working out; you’re building a stronger, more confident you. And that kind of change affects more than just your physical appearance; it seeps into how you view yourself and your abilities.

@@tl0470 if you're not in a caloric deficit, you probably won't. As Mike said, you don't burn a ton of calories through resistance training. But if you are in a constant deficit, you should see some fat loss weekly🙂 The bigger the deficit, the bigger fat loss. But don't go crazy low on calories, that's not healthy at all, and potentially a bit dangerous for your body. Hope it helps.

Sure can. If you have lower hormone levels its going to be hard to recover. Hes in his 50s. If you think thats a big portion of his success go join the millions of people on trt that never lose any weight and are still fat and visually unimpressive. For every person that thinks trt/steroids “get in shape with less or no effort” theres a dozen laughing that people still think that in 2024. Are you afraid of touching the same door handle as a gay person and winding up gay? Cuz thats how silly thinking trt is an ace up your sleeve for citing it as an excuse for results of a physical transformation. I have a 45 year old client who has been on trt for a year and has been “training” that looks like fkn trash. Weve been working together two months and his waist has shrunk 4”. He said he hasnt worn 36s since high school. The difference? I make him actually train. I write diet plans for him. Those two things changed his body and life in 8 weeks. Being on trt didnt do any of it unless there was a spot where i worked him a bit too hard. The correct hormone levels kept his recovery moving is the only difference.

Oh women can build the muscle just as quickly. The thing is that women generally don't train as hard as a man does. You'll often hear and see men screaming and groaning through exercises and pain just to push through the sets. You'll barely see 1 out of 10,000 females doing the same to achieve the muscle growth. Not to mention, they always use too LITTLE weight. They're afraid to put on weight heavy enough to make them groan and push hard. You'll see countless women at the gym leg pressing just 1 or 2 plates but they easily do 20+ reps like nothing. Hardly ever do you see them pushing it by adding so much they struggle.

Ive started doing wheight training after loosing over 110 pounds. I had a lovely time running. Running was impossible at my wheight, so being able to run, jump, and not feel pain? It was like a dream. Couldnt belive it. Ive been runing half marathons in an alright-ish time. Nothing special, but for me it is. Now Ive shifted to resistance trainig and I can deffinitely feel som different benefits. Im still losing wheight. One of the benefits I never really noticed, was how much better my back has become. Didnt realy think it was that bad with pain, but it apperently was. Just a month worth of resistance training and high strectching (wanted to do the splits and im getting there) has made an almost unreal difference. Wheight loss alone made a huge difference, but already feeling much more agile and less fragile after a couple of months is wonderfull. I dont think im growing all that much, but it feels like Im gaining controll, power and become more and more atuned with my body. I know I can trust it to actually do things without breaking. Back rows, deadlifts, even a few modest pullups with good form is possible. I know its nothing special, but 4 years ago, I had lost all hope at even walking painless.

About two months ago I switched from running 2-3 times a week to lifting weights just because the gym is on my way home from work and at that point until now I have no commitments after work. @@StenBackstrom you are joking right? Why do you think when you diet you lose massive amounts of weight in the first few weeks but then you stop losing weight suddenly? Because the body burns the water weight first which is about 7-10kg then it starts to burn the fat very slow. Losing only 5 kg in 3 months is absolutely just the water weight. Now it will be a different story if she first lost the water weight and then 5kg that is ok-ish..

It's spelled Frank 😂. This is exactly why I don't allow myself to live a sedentary lifestyle by doing pushups and situps everyday during the Summer from June to August 🌞🏝️. It's why I'm cool being a 24 year old Christian virgin working as a special education teacher and clinical mental health counselor. This has nothing to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college graduate. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant

And before you start dreaming up a rebuttal, yes there are tons of people on full blown courses of peds that are fat and look terrible. Thats a personal issue not drugs. This is exactly why I do pushups and situps everyday during the Summer from June to August 🌞🏝️. It's exactly why I'm cool being a 24 year old Christian virgin working as a special education teacher and clinical mental health counselor.

So they end up fatter with muscles. It has gotten so bad at the gym that if you do not have a gut saying you do not eat enough. Gen Z from what I see is way more overweight but lifting heavey. As a post-menopausal woman, I'm living proof that Dr. Mike is 100% correct. I'd gradually put on about 20 pounds of fat and felt like crap. I tried various approaches because jogging and yoga wasn't cutting it like it used to in my younger days. I used to lift weights in my 20s and early 30s, and getting back into weight training is what my body needed. I work out harder now (with dumbbells--nothing fancy) than I did when I was younger, and after about a year I can "really* tell the difference and feel amazing! I honestly didn't think I could feel this good at my age. It's very motivating to keep going. I try to run sprints once a week, but other than that it's just being consistent with weight training that is so important in body recomposition.

As a former fitness model I spent a lot of time with fashion/bikini models in my late teens and twenties and now when I speak to them 30 to 35 years later it becomes very clear that those who stayed in shape (by working out with weights) still have great (sex) lives, and those who became fat and miserable are single, broke and unrecognizable. It's super important for women to stay in shape for physical/mental/financial security. Only because I myself also train four days per week with weights I still date models and beautiful ladies in their mid twenties to mid fourties. They wouldn't even look at me if I had a atrophy induced miserable fat body/belly, was bald, and broke.

Look at your protein intake, essential vitamins and nutrients, electrolytes, sleep quality, and time and frequency of training. If you use caloric restriction, ensure you are consuming enough protein for energy and muscle building and reduce the carbs, because carbohydrates and sugar can contribute to lethargy and fatigue levels. Another concern might be related to when you eat in relation to your workout time and sleep.

Make sure you don’t eat stupid amounts of protein. My first cut I kept protein levels the same and reduced fats and carbs. So I ended up with like 200g protein and almost zero fat and a bit of carbs. felt like shit. Zero energy and sluggish. Traded some of that protein for fat and some extra carbs and I felt wayyyy better. Kept to 0.8-1g/lb protein and made sure to hit my fat target each day, then filled the rest with carbs. Night and day difference. Eating a ton of protein doesn’t help anything. On a bulk it doesn’t matter since you have tons of calories to play with, but on a cut you need to make sure you save room for healthy carbs and fats because they’re essential for your bodies function and energy.

Post workout meals are something to look forward to and very good to shuttle nutrients. Try training in the morning and from a psychological standpoint make the post workout meal the reward. Watch a podcast and enjoy. It sets your day up nice for work and for the early morning discipline. I’m in a deficit and train regularly and like anything else you have to get used to living on less calories. But you can do it but you have to set a plan for yourself. Check out John Meadows videos for training and Stan Efferdings Iceland seminar for all diet needs. With those two you can find a sustainable lifestyle. Put on lean muscle, raise your resting metabolic rate. I know weightlifting isn’t for everyone so find a way to add resistance training in a way you enjoy and do what you will stick with.

I know i probably should hire a trainer or visit a Nutricionist, but imma ask anyway. I've lost 20 kgs mostly by running. I also was extremely sedentary (and actually still am, but i lift weights. other than that im sedentary). I am probably around 22-23% body fat. I dont look muscled at all ("dont look like i lift" unless you see my naked arms which kinda do show some muscle) How do i decide if i want to lose a bit more bodyfat or just focus on building the muscle? If you "dont look like you lift" you'd guess that i am undermuscled enough to gain muscle while losing fat? I've been training "going through the motion" for a while, but started actually putting in intensity/effort (and neved missing a session) since the beginning of the year. I gained around 6kg since then and definitely gotten stronger but still look like shit (too small sometimes, but definitely a lot of fat there) Im pretty sure the training intensity is OK for now because as i said i have gotten stronger and for example in my arms when im moving them around, or showering etc i see night and day difference. I also get sore almost every session on pretty much every muscle group. But i want to get rid of the fat and dont want to look like im sick or lose whatever little muscle i've gained
