Very best insulin/glucose metabolism science available today. Ideologies just can't overcome biochemistry. I'm on day 11 following all of your guidelines and the health benefits I'm seeing are numerous. I just started a form of IF, eating only breakfast and dinner and skipping lunch and not eating after dinner (7pm or so). It's remarkable how fast belly fat melts off doing this. I'm telling all my clients, forget about the rhetoric you've heard, I don't care if it's coming from influencers with a million followers; just read the book, do this for 30 days and trust the process. The result will be "case closed." Blessings!

Talking about Intermittent fasting, eating breakfast and dinner is a non sense...or you do breakfast and lunch - or you go for lunch and dinner skipping breakfast 😂

This was normal life as a teenager in the 60s and 70s. Ate supper at 6pm, then played till the street lights came on, then shower and bed. Next morning lazy teenagers wakes at the last second, brush teeth wet down hair walk mile and a half to school, no breakfast. School get up every 45 minutes for the next class walking up and down stairs. Lunch was tiny back then, maybe 10 string beans a small scoop of mashed potatoes a small piece of Salisbury steak and a half pint of milk. After school you went to practice football, baseball, track whatever or paper route. All fueled on just that small lunch till supper at 6pm again. There were no snacks or vending machines, only a water fountain at school. No water or snacks at football practice. Ha Gatorade wasn't even invented yet or water bottles. We never sat still with tons of energy and still growing with very little food. No snacks ever, they were for special occasions birthday, holiday ect. So when you say no kids shouldn't do intermittent fasting ha, we lived it. Look at the pictures from the 60s and 70s. We were all bean poles. And that was normal looking. Now if we look like that they think we are malnourished ha..

Don't overthink this. You just leave out one meal or just think of it as a late breakfast. I have been doing IF for over 40 years because i don't like breakfast. Really, by the time I get my run and weight workout done, teach some yoga and Pilates classes, it's 1pm for me and time for my 'breakfast'. We don't need 3 meals per day. Easy-peasey. Most of the time you are sleeping; post dinner/evenings are easy because you ate and mornings we are too busy working out, etc!

I have been following MD for about 9 months now and I see no reason to IF. As a type 1 diabetic, my blood sugar rises as soon as I wake up and until I eat. So, fasting in the morning wouldn’t work and eating this way I rarely eat much anyways. I have found that the more I am doing this the more I get away from “eating a meal”, but rather grabbing veggies or fruit. If I stick to this regimen I have no doubt that my body will burn off the extra fat I have on my body. It did when I first started, but then I started eating processed foods and more fats and gained part of it back. So, stick to the 30g of fat and green light foods and some yellow and see amazing results without starving. 😅

Very interesting. I tried the intermittent fasting for about four months. I didn’t lose any weight, my sugar didn’t drop And I started getting very dizzy. It would not go away. I ended up going to my doctor. She gave me a lecture that I am diabetic and need to eat something every 3 hours. I had to take meds and stop the fasting. I did start fasting 9 hours went up to 14 hours. I also noted a couple of times that I did go to 16 hours, I felt I was about to pass out.

I would think if your on any blood glucose lowering meds fasting won't work. For Just the reason you were stating Wouldn't you have to go off the meds to try that? I would think if you're on basal insulin you would have to reduce the amount before even trying this. Check with the doctor first definitely to let them know you're going to try this. Hopefully they're open.

Hi , 7 year vegan here. Recently got bloodwork done and it was all relatively good. I personally wanted to bring down my A1C a bit and triglycerides a bit and lose to extra weight so I’ve been doing 16-8 , eating from noon to 8 pm. I’ve never felt so good in my life, lost 15 pounds and am fit again. Quit alchohol and processed foods BUT am scared to do this long term because I heard Dr. Valter Longo say that breakfast skippers have more rates of cancer and heart disease?!? How can this be? My question is more than who? More than people on the SAD or? Please curious if you can give me some insight.

There was a recent study which showed that in mice, there was an increase in carcinogenesis in intermittent fasting protocol ..as the prelmalignant cells were not scavenged due to reduced inflammatory activity...any inputs please .
@seitanbeatsyourmeat666
@seitanbeatsyourmeat666 Жыл бұрын
You should look up how the cancer community uses fasting in cancer therapy… humans aren’t mice Look up Dr. Longo specifically for info. I’m going to google “fasting causing carcinogenesis in mice” because this smells funny. Fasting causes autophagy which cleans up cellular activity, including pre-cancerous states. Inflammation doesn’t reverse cancer in any way, or we wouldn’t have cancer at all! Most humans are in a state of constant inflammation. Your comment is crazy Edit: as suspected, everything from many different medical journals, refute what you stated. I think you need to post the link to this “study”

Since then i have gained 36lbs, had sat in my chair most days, had ichy ears, borderline diabetes, dizziness, congestion, hacking cough during the night, lip & eye-twiches, loose stool/diarrhea, headaches, heart palpations, nail ridges. I'm going to reduce my pills by half then if I don't reduce my blood-sugar and all these symptoms I am going to reduce it by half again. 😊
