I hurt someone because of my past and I used to think I’m in love him with completely. But I realised that I am more attached to him than in love. Right now we are in separation and because of my attachment I was trying to take control and not able to let go of the things I can’t control. This video opened my eyes. I am trying to change and be a better person. Specially when it comes to love. I want to love unconditionally and selflessly. Affirm.

When you come from a childhood lacking security and emotional support you often end up looking for it in a partner as an adult, hence the attachment, looking for a partner to fill the role a parent should have filled. Wish I could have learned this lesson you teach today back when I was 20 years old. I do now know how to love without attachment. It frees both yourself and the other person.🙏

We learn through realisation and correcting our ways slowly by slowly. That's what my experience taught me. Not all of us were lucky to be born in a healthy family. But I think it's the way it is. For some of us it might occur that had this video been released much before we would have the love of our life still with us. But I quote again it is what it is. Learn from your mistakes and move forward. One cannot go back and change their childhood experience. Let's be sorry for that child ,let's pardon ourselves to carry forward those unmet needs to our partners and most importantly realise it embrace it and let's move on. This is how I healed and healing myself.

Exactly my experience. My parents divorced when I was a baby and I never got that emotional support from my mother or anyone else. At 21 I met the woman who would change me, got attached and 36 years later she is dead and I've not been able to get over her death. Haven't heard from my children since the death so I lost wife and kids in one go.

- love is wishing other's happiness - attachment is wishing your own happiness from others; wanting to be with someone forever and not let go; over-protecting, holding on, and controlling someone; being afraid of losing someone - everyone lives in their own private world, everyone needs freedom - you can control how you live in your life - 3 truths in life on how to love and be compassionate: (1) no one is permanent (everything is subjective to change), (2) everyone is suffering in their own world, and (3) not everyone is under your control

i recently broke up with someone i loved with all my heart. when we were dating, i had the mentality of love without attachment. however, the more and more i realized we wouldnt work, i started getting attached. consciously, i didnt know it wouldnt work, but my subconscious knew. it knew as soon as the first hint came to my attention, no matter how much i tried to deny it, i knew it wouldnt work. i have known them all of my life, so its hard to let them go, but i hope that soon i can set aside my anger and wish them happiness again like i used to. they truly deserve to be happy.

in life.. we all pick our own battle. If you love someone, you would sacrifice, caring & take care the person who we love. If someday that person is gone because of breaking up or death then we have to learn to let it go. It is ok to attach to someone but at the same time we have to learn how to let thinngs go. Acceptance is the hardest to learn

Thank you for this video and thank you to everyone who's commented. Yesterday, I lost the man I love. I fell into such a deep attachment that I lost myself. He was someone I refused to give up on. Our good times were the BEST. He needed to move on and I had to let go. I've been up for almost 24 hours and through meditation and amazing videos like this, I have finally let go. My love for him is pure and I wish him all the happiness. It feels good to say that. Attachment always equals suffering.

Perhaps the hardest of all is letting go of deceased loved ones (relatives, pets, friends). In order to free their Souls (and ours), we have to sever our attachments to them to break the karmic bonds that cause both you and them to continue to suffer on the Wheel, lifetime after lifetime in the earth plane. This is very hard, so repeating mantras like "I want your Soul to be free and independent" can help to let go. That is true love.

One of the most compassionate things we can do is love freely, without conditions or attachments. It is painful to think that me or my own child will have to part one day but it is so liberating to understand that this one fact makes every day spent in love and appreciation of my child, a great gift!!! When the time comes for either of us to journey on, it would be kind to say thank you to the soul that befriended mine while we lived together! Thank you for your beautiful lesson Bhadanta. 🙏🏽🌸🌿🕊️

Attachment is thinking about your own happiness. - Other people have their own suffering to deal with just like you. As such, they can never fulfill your needs completely.

I think this is why I love loving-kindness meditation, it helps develop this feeling towards yourself and others, and eases insecurity ... and your loving-kindness meditation video is great!! ❤

After going through ups n down of love life, i can say: Past experiences build resilience and make who we are at this present moment. Through love, we all grow and feel complete. Love oneself plus feel content with oneself before sharing happiness and love others. Through time, enjoy a love life journey through learning, understanding, and accepting flaws, quirkiness, uniqueness, and all that makes him / her different from the rest. My SO commented: "We all have flaws. Perfect imperfections" Sabbe Satta Bhavantu Sukhitatta May all beings be joyful and happy 😊

I have heard it is better for someone to love you more, than you love them. That would be a nice scenario for once. Being the one to get hurt all the time sucks😊

Thank you Thero for your deep wisdom about love and attachment. Navigating on the spiritual path I have come to conclusion that when it comes to pure love you wish the other person to be happy even if you are not included in their life that is the definition of unconditional love but the more awaken and spiritual you become love without attachments is the way you begin to love the others.. It's hard but also there is comfort in this truth when there is impermanence... Namo Buddhaya ❤️❤️🙏🙏

What we gain is what we give… If you spread pure love to someone, you will receive the same pure love from that person. That’s how nature works. So there’s nothing to worry or afraid of if you give pure love as you will receive the same. I’ve been experiencing it Thank you so mich🙏🙏🙏

Not necessarily the other person see your pure love.or even love at all. That's why many walk away from relationships and suffer.

This made me cry so much. I have so much trauma from my childhood, I'm so afraid to be left. To be hurt. This makes me make bad decisions in relationships. I'm so afraid of letting go of control. But I want to. I want to love without attachment.

His words are soooo true and inspiring. This is exactly what happened in my life and I learnt now that I need to love others selflessly not thinking about my happiness cuz if u want a person just to make yourself happy you'll lose that person but because of his pure words and teachings I am learning slowly how to imply Buddhist teachings in my own life. I wish may everyone get happiness and love in their life. Thanks a lot for your meaningful lessons your smile and voice always make me calm and happy. I hope I can move on the path of Buddhist principles and make myself better and people around me happy. Namo Buddhaya 🙏🙏
