I have gone through a few of these CO2 reactors in the last 15 years and stopped using them. The plus point is that they dissolve CO2 better than any other reactor and it 100% efficient. The biggest downside is that the CO2 inlet on these types of reactors, because they are made of simple plastic reacts with the CO2 gas and melts or gets very brittle over a period of time and breaks off, so you have to keep replacing the reactor. If you could fuse a Stainless steel inlet valve into this inlet so that the pure CO2 gas tube can fix to this modified. It will work for a very long time, I have had this idea for a long time now but been a bit lazy to make this fix. But you have the idea, when it breaks, drill and appropriate size hose and fix a SS inlet/connector and connect your CO2 tube to it. Wait for yours to break and then try this fix.

@@MayurDevAquascaper - Replacing plastic just because it is cheap is not environment friendly and we should take that into account too. Being in a nature based hobby I am sure that almost all aquarists love nature and that is why we love fish. So we need to take care of how we package and build products and dispose them as it hurts us back. I am both an aquarist and an angler and it pains me when ever I go fishing to see plastic waste littering the place. It will be great if you can manufacturer them and fuse a SS non return valve as an inlet or a ceramic or glass tube that is insulated with plastic, it should do the trick as the break off happens at the point where the inset meets the cylinder or the inlet it self fuses. Yesterday I was checking the net and found a green leaf design that has an interesting inlet, it costs about US$ 50....anyway I am sure you will make a better one. Good Luck.

There is nothing called beginners actually. It's all about your bank balance. I have a friend who just started aquarium hobby 2 months back. And with his first aquarium set up he started with 5 feet extra clear glass, high quality aquarium soil, extra ordinary plants, co2 cylinder and diffuser, liquid fertilizer, soil tablets etc. Just in 2 months his aquarium looks so amazing. That was possible caz he has the bank balance. He kept a budget of 50-70k for the full set up with canister filter. On the other hand another friend of mines is in this same line from more than 10 years and still playing around with gold fish set up with a 2 feet aquarium with normal glass, simple internal filter and nothing more caz his bank balance doesn't allow to do more. It's all about your bank balance when you into anything or any hobby.

It's like comparison of a low budget tv and a 4k resolution tv. Quality really matters. More the budget the better you can work with the project. The purpose of the reactor is to mix the CO2 with water in the reactor and then send that water to the aquarium. The purpose of the reactor is not to send CO2 bubbles in the aquarium. Some bubbles can leak to the aquarium.

Sir I have done same with an internal filter or a powerhead that has an air intake tube, and you can directly use it to the co2 output pipe and done!! It works same because most of the powerhead or HOB filter now come with that fan.

@mayur sir. I use this type of reactor on my tank. and face the problem that after sometime my reactor is filled with CO2, and water stays in the lower half only. In a video on beneficial bacteria on discus ninja channel, dr. mathews said that it is the anaerobic bacteria that do the real magic without elaborating on it any further. It is my request with both hands folded to dr. mathews to please make a detailed video elaborating why he said so and also ways of increasing anaerobic bacteria colonies in our aquarium because i think our regular filtration methods are more focused on aerobic bacteria (ammonia to nitrate) and anaerobic bacteria take it a step further and convert those nitrates to nitrogen as per my limited knowledge

You're not supposed to get micro bubbles. The flow rate is too high for the reactor. I had this problem and well. I added a second reactor inline and also used a bypass valve. This resolved the micro bubble issue.

he has made many videos on plants melting. watch those. and don't use so much phyto carb, it is mainly liquid carbon which does more harm than good. it can even kill the beneficial bacteria in your tank in addition to damaging the plants. watch mayur sir's videos on liquid carbon to know more. And plant health formula by aquatic remedies only has micronutrients, you need to supplement that with macronutrients - plant food by aquatic remedies is one such fertilizer. Dose just once or twice a week. And if you are not using CO2 then I suggest you to reduce the light time to 6-7 hrs

The issue is that, you do not have co2 and liquid will not help, it is waste of money, also the fertiliser you are using will not match with the existing nutrition in the soil, so the plants will melt

Non Co2 tank can be achieved with good plan. Mayur sir has done videos about this and the water change cycle for non CO2 tanks. Striking a balance in non CO2 tank is not easy. If you don't want to invest in CO2 injection you can try diy CO2 ( which has its cons, may be you can run a good aeriation during night and reduce it during the lights on ). Alage problems will appear in non CO2 tanks. I would say non CO2 planted tank can still be acheived with good planning. Good luck !!

co2 seen bubling up is waste.Just dose filter pump suction with CO2 .U can chk filter outlet by increasing and decreasing CO2 and watching the bubbles coming out.Set qty of CO2 such that hardly any bubbles coming out.U hv saved atleast 75% co2.

Okay this is just bad advice. And don't know why mayur dev is calling it amazing. If you put CO2 directly in the filter intake, the acidic nature of CO2 will end up destroying your filter. CO2 reactors are expensive because, like CO2 pipes, they need to be extra rugged to handle CO2 processing. Your regular aquarium filter is not manufactured for this and CO2 will end up making its plastic parts, including impeller, brittle and break.
