Another great lesson. Never had to use it in the field only in the classroom.

Thank you! Yes it would suck to have to use this is the field. But the skills are important.

Well done Mikey, thank you again for helping everyone stay refreshed and current on the basics,. How about a basic skate block rescue? I know, it's not simple, maybe the concept. Thank you again, Jim H.

Great video, seemed nice and simple. I'm curious though if in an assessment you'd get a discrepancy for not having friction whilst lowering the Grillon? I would probably have not put one on myself as I feel worst case scenario is only going to slip through up until the Rig took tension. Not a criticism, just curious.

Good video. A friend did fail in the level 3 test because the rope finished and he doesn't knew how to mend another rope to continue the rigging and the time done. Was sad.

That's really unfortunate, however wasn't able to pass the test that day due to the lack of experience. Maybe to no fault of his own, but a fault to the system for not teaching him these skills. Sadly, failures teach us the greatest skills.

You can also use a bit of rope and a munter hitch if you don't have a grillon on hand. Otherwise, great video.

Great I do it exactly the same except I bring my knot much closer than you. Why is there no need for you to use a friction carabiner when lowering off the grillon? I think I know the answer but I'm not sure.
@theropeaccessandclimbingpo23803 жыл бұрын
A friction carabiner isn’t required as long as you can keep the rope over the friction bar of the device. Also, in this case it was a super light weight. I wasnt lowering anything over the single person load… But every device requires may vary.
