Nice Episode! We use a rigging plate between the sling and the lowering device.

Curious about the tri-axle loading of your first crab in the system. If you put a better angle on your anchor straps, it fixes the bad loading of the crab and also gets ride of the need for an additional crab because you can add one after the anchor strap is loaded without having to fight the wide angle.

Great episode, again! About that extra friction, the way I think about it is that the rope in normal operation travels through the ID/Grillion(Gri gri) in the form of the letter "C". But when you lower off of either one, then the rope needs to make the letter "S" and you do that by pulling the rope back over the face plate. I hope that make sense, it's much easier to see on a diagram then to verbalize it :).

Hey Thank you for your comment again! No matter if it's one person/ two person/ lowering or what have you. The Rope must run over the face plate of the device. But if this is a method that you use to make sense of it and teach it. Thats awesome. I have seen/heard so many didn't ways to do the same thing. Some work better than others. But cant say its wrong...

I really like your rigging it's always simple no fuss. I almost failed my Sprat 3 recertification because of this challenge. I had never done this exercise and had not given it any thought.

@@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 I changed my set-up mid way to use a rescue scender instead of a basic. Then I got stressed out because the assessor asked me why I had done that . The whole thing took me like 20 minutes? Cheers
