I never loved any keyboard as much as my Wooting, but today, given that each key is in 4 pieces, with 100+ keys, doing my first maintenance after spilling liquid over the whole thing, I'm not so happy. But hey, after another day or so I'll get back an amazing and renewed keyboard. Also, this video is very helpful.

Liquid is always nasty, especially if it's a fat and/or sugar containing drink. Regardless of how we protect the PCBA, you need to clean out the entire thing or else it'll just start to mold inside, degrade PCBA faster, and keys get sticky! So good job taking it apart!

The only reason you "Should Not" use Krytox 205g0 on your stabs is strictly a cost issue, it's expensive and considered a waste when other lubricants like Dielectric Grease or the Molykote EM-50l you showed can do basically the same job on the stabs, neither works better or worse so i wouldn't go as far to say you outright "Should Not" use 205g0 for stabilizers, it's just more cost effective to use something else unless you don't have anything else on hand, then going out & buying something else specifically for stabs when you only have one set to lubricate would be more wasteful.

Yeah so I just spent 6 hours cleaning and lubing my 60HE today. I've had it for almost a year so it's broken in p well. people say the switches are mid but if im not mistaken in fine print under the stem it says they're made by Gateron so take that as you will. My advice is to do your due diligence and fully, fully lube the switches. I think the stock leker switches are more firm than anything so I wouldn't worry about them jamming from excessive lube. I followed the tutorial and lubed all the parts of the switch, without over lubing any parts of the swtich, and they sound like a million bucks.

@@jtechmkb it’s very hard to do prelubed keyboards without major price increases, as its very labor intensive. It’s hard and expensive to automate, not to mention the fact that using too much or too little lube on the keys can cause it to not sound as good, so you would also need the automation to be very controlled and precise, meaning that practically speaking the only way to lube it with decent results would be by having someone hand lube rhe keyboard. This however greatly drives the price up as lubing can take up to an hour, which means you pay for lube, equipment, expertise, and the wage of the person lubing.

I do not know if you found your answer, but you CAN clip the stabs! I clipped mine and they feel/sound a lot better. You can also band-aid mod your stabs as well. The only downside is the stabs are plate-mounted, which is not a HUGE deal, but would be nice to see this. For a gaming keyboard, it's amazing that we even have the ability to do mods that you would normally see on a custom. The fact you can even swap the PCB into other cases is awesome alone.

We've had a few community members on Discord go through with films, you should ask them just in case, in the #I_have_my_60he channel, #60he community modding thread. Stock it arrives with pre-lubed switches which are smooth out of the box. Optionally, you can hand-lube them further to get a different sound from them.

Is lubing a must? can not lubing make the keyboard less competitive in the sense of delay/input lag/speed?
@Wooting
@Wooting Жыл бұрын
The keyboard is factory lubed out of the box. Some users want a different sound or feeling to their keyboard and that is the main reason people lube their keyboards. It doesn’t influence the keyboard speed, delay or input lag in any way.

does having the ARM or AVR make a big difference for gaming?
@Wooting

I quote from the website, since Calder has written it so nicely 😁 "The new MCU compared to the current MCU is more powerful. That said, the current MCU still meets our requirements and expectations. There is no difference in performance and features for the time being. We can even guarantee that regardless of the MCU, you can and will enjoy the comparable features and performance up until January 2024. After this date, we expect to exceed the capabilities of the current MCU and can't make the same guarantee anymore. There will be one notable difference. The new MCU will have more available configuration slots for advanced features such as DKS, Mod-tap, and other potential advanced key configurations we might create. We expect the new MCU to store about twice the amount of slots thanks to its larger temporary memory (SRAM)." ^Sander

Are the keyboards factory lubed? Or is it possible to buy a pre-lubed keyboard?
@hieroja9774

According to the website they are pre-lubed, this might be new addition to newer batches. Just got mine and it is really smooth out of the box. I have custom keyboard with hand lubed alpacas and the wooting is really close to that when in comes to smoothness.

Sound comparison is pending. They are all pre lubed and it’s unlikely you’d need to grease the stabs. The switch can still make a difference with additional lube.

How often do you normally lube up?
@Wooting
@Wooting Жыл бұрын
After doing it once, you should be set for a while. There isn't really a standard time when you have to re-lube your switches. If you feel like your switches need some additional lubing again, you could go at it. Personally, I just keep it at once. But I haven't used a lubed keyboard longer than half a year so far. ^Sander

The switches are factory pre-lubed, but a DIY job would always do a better job at it. You don't need to clean your switches, just make sure you use a thin coating. 😄 ^Sander

Hi! This is a question from China! Will wooting60He be reselled in china? And are the light springs replacements on stock yet? Thanks! Just watched a video of you speaking perfect mandarin couple years ago (It’s about selling a keyboard in China and you made a joke about being single lolll) Anyways,really glad you achieve a lot to day!

Haha I remember that video! We discontinued selling in China due to the complexity and it not earning itself back for the trouble. At this moment we don't work with resellers (anymore) and will review working with them again in the future for selected countries. We deduct any VAT etc. from our international store shipping to China and provide worldwide warranty, in case you want to make the jump. The light springs will be in stock next week. They just finished production and are on their way by express shipment. - Calder
