Nice vid, thanks for sharing. Can I ask what grass you have and what the soil is mainly like (sandy/clay etc) and what you use (if anything) to top dress?

Hi Martin, over the past 3 years we have been over seeding with dwarf rye grass. Traditionally rye would be frowned upon as it’s quite a waxy grass thick leaf. Now seed firms are producing more fine leaf varieties that are fine enough for bowing greens and also hard wearing. Our soil is quite sandy with a certain amount of river silt in it. For the past 5 years we have top dressed the green at leaf twice a year with Mansfield dressing which is an 80 sand 20 soil mix. Hope this helps and if you need any more info then don’t hesitate to contact me. Regards Mike Turfmenuk

What do you use to roll your greens
@turfmenuk93632 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, I’m not a great fan of rolling greens as we spend a lot of time aerating so don’t really want to compact the soil structure. If you think about it the green gets a roll every time we cut it.
