THANK YOU FOR SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE FOOT STRETCHERS! Most foot stretchers that I've seen only stretch the end (toes) of your foot, also damaging it. It is better to stretch the middle of the foot.

Hi, I find it hard to activate my inner thighs during ballet and was wondering if there are any tips? x
@hillareeharper32567 жыл бұрын
Maddison Tierney practice puting something squishy like a basket ball (not to squishy) in between your two knees and the push to like squeez it and then practice that feeling without the ball

Hillaree Harper thank you so much!
@claraeuale16187 жыл бұрын
Maddison Tierney I had the same issue and actually had over developed my gluteus from using the wrong muscles! I always think of my bones rotating instead of my muscles, because by thinking that way the muscles will correctly activate and your inner thighs will activate when needed. Also, during class you can also think about rotating your legs from the inner thighs

Hi Claudia! Firstly, thank you very much for your videos. I enjoy your contents and admire the originality and value of your tips. I am not a ballet dancer myself but I have tried other styles of dancing lessons and I believe taking ballet lessons is something I must try one day. I don't really know if my suggestion is feasible for your channel 's main audience but I would really enjoy a video on tips to address ballet as a complete beginner. Some ideas could be what should we expect from ballet lessons, if there is a "right" type of body or feet (to carry out simple movements, evidently not to be professionals), etc. As well as some other topics that are usually little known by those of us who are not professional dancers, how castings are carried out, worst day-to-day situations in a life of a ballet dancer, how to understand what ballet movements represent when we see a production. I honestly believe that the latter could give your channel a wider range of action from ballet dancers to ballet fans.

I think one of the reasons Q&A's may not be as popular is the length of time it takes to watch them. I think our culture is used to immediate gratification, so even though I totally LOVE your vids and tutorials, I think there might be better feed back if the Q&A's were shorter... say like 5 mins at a time. Your Dance tutorials usually aren't as long as the Q&A's which could be a reason why they don't get as many views. But who knows, I adore you either way.

Hi there, I know it is an old video but viewing this video I can't help but wonder if you are the avant garde balanchin-esque pioneer of the future? You are SO talented! You should do a solo project or even make your own company. You are the master and the dancer at the same time! I came across your videos from Lausanne the other day , I was actually there, at the same venue the same year, but I was break dancing, WEIRD huh? I did some ballet now and then, and it has always been a complement to my own training, since my ballet dreams were ignored despite the wishes of a five year old. I was also rejected at a prestigious dance academy at 18, for obvious body shaming and bad dance politics (I knew since I was already a seasoned dancer in the field of disco at the time, and they cut me for a more "homogenous group" which just sounded bad in my ears ), that I in the end just did my own thing. In the end it should be about the dancing. You seem to be one of those souls too, that just REALLY love to dance, if you don't mind me saying so. And you did the work! I would come see your company anyway. You have a very distinct way of moving and representing ballet, so never mind old frumpy ballet people. They are just jealous! To me, your dancing screams ballerina, so I hope you do your own thing in the long run! Don't deprive the world of great dancing! Make old repertoire (or any) your way and we'll soon see the Australian school of Ballet as a contender in the history books! Urban ballet! Best wishes from Sweden!

What's the difference between a rise and a relevè? Eg question 4. Xxxx
@lilyroett44817 жыл бұрын
When you relevé you snatch your feet in an upwards motion and you move your toes to where your ankle is and when you rise you are just lifting your heel upwards
@annaarlette76667 жыл бұрын
A rise(or elevé) is just rising onto Demi pointe and a relevé is a plié and then a rise onto Demi pointe

Hi can you do any vids on specifics for feet for argentine tango? I have a growing buneon from a 20 year old injury, now being exacerbated by the high heels and tango. I'm nearly 40, have flat feet, so have been trying to build some feet strength this year since starting tango in September.
