I only put moisturizer in my hair when I’m getting my two strand twist I avoid getting my hair wet because it gets frizzy and looks a hot mess. What should I do? I’ve been growing my hair for a year now.
@MadeByMaj4 жыл бұрын
Great question, when I don’t intend on wearing my styles for long periods of time, I’ll moisturize the hair with just oils. I usually use coconut oil because it can both penetrate and seal. Avocado Oil is another great oil to use for moisturizing your hair, as it has a lot of vitamins and nutrients that can help with hair growth. Also, Olive Oil works well. It’ll soften the hair while also giving it a lot of shine. When just using oils to add moisture to your hair, it helps maintain that neat fresh look you want to keep while also limiting the frizz and craziness that may come from wetting your hair. I suggest trying some of these oils out and seeing how it works on your hair.

@@verachez5319 it’s not necessarily bad. The important thing is you wanna make sure you’re keeping your hair and scalp healthy though. Two strand twist is good for locs and if you wanted to do something different do barrels they might itch a little bit but I’ve only had two strand and barrels and I’ve been locked for five months. That’s what I would recommend and washing your hair go a month without washing your hair after the re-twist and once you wash it after a month you can wash it however long you want to it doesn’t matter anymore. After that you can go to weeks three weeks or however long you want to go after that.

I don't have a durag so I cover my head using a towel and I have to wake up with my twist bended and facing opposite ways how do I fix that problem?
@MadeByMaj2 жыл бұрын
If you can I’d recommend getting either a durag/scarf/bonnet. Those will help keep your twist laying flat while you sleep to avoid that bending your experience. A towel won’t help get the job done unfortunately, plus it will make the twist frizzy
@ms.rivera789810 ай бұрын
Don’t use a towel. You can use an old T-shirt. But it’s definitely recommended to get a bonnet or scarf.

What do u do about dandruff?

Try to get your scalp from being dry. Good tip is to make sure you massage your scalp when washing your hair to increase the blood flow and use moisturizing products that aren’t drying your hair out.

How would I maintain my twist I dont want my scalp to get dry or my twist to get frizzy what should I do ?
@MadeByMaj2 жыл бұрын
Get a spray bottle and put some tea tree oil, glycerin, and water in it. Use that to spritz your hair and rub it in your scalp. It’ll prevent dry itch scalp and help retain moisture while you wear the style. I usually spritz in my head daily in the morning.

@MadeByMaj3 жыл бұрын
Yea, prolly be best if you can wear some protective covering over your twist. I used to have to do that playing football

@@MadeByMaj sounds good. I've been thinking about just tying them up before practice instead since a covering would most likely come off during wrestling practice

How do you keep em long cuz mine like to shrink up?
@jamesb15253 жыл бұрын
Put a clip at the end of them
@MadeByMaj3 жыл бұрын
Yea I agree with James B. That’s one way to use the weight of the clips and gravity to prevent them from shrinking up so much. Another way I’ve done if you don’t have clips is tried to pull them down from my durag when I go to sleep. The ends of them hang out stretch the parts closest to the roots, which helps with shrinkage. But clips would probably be the more effective option

How long does your hair need to be for two strand twists??
@MadeByMaj3 жыл бұрын
Damn that’s a good question. I would say at least a couple inches. Like enough to be able to grab and twist a couple times. 3-5 inches maybe 🤔
