On Carlos' last day in Austin, Texas, he's coming at you with a video about how he maintains his beard.
He admits his beard genetics are a big help, but he also says that having the right tools to keep your beard looking its best is key. Carlos' suggestion? A pair of Beardbrand trimming scissors, one of our Kent combs, one of our 100% boar's hair brushes, a bottle of beard oil, and some mustache wax.
He also recommends trimming and shaping every two weeks or so. While Carlos typically goes to a barber twice a month to keep his beard trimmed, he talks about how he does at-home trims, and discusses how he cuts the area around his sideburns shorter and slowly tapers to a longer length toward his cheeks and jaw. Be sure to keep your neckline in check - right above the Adam's apple is a good marker for where to trim and cut to keep a good shape.

I find the scissors to be more challenging when trimming than the clippers. Clippers without guard for shaping and moustache maintenance and a No. 6 guard for cheek trimming. When your beard grows out fast using scissors is just a pain in the ass for upkeep unless you're letting it grow out and just taking care of strays.

I'm loving your beard brother Carlos, I'm aiming at the way you have yours to style mine. I had PLENTY of full beards down through the years, even up to last month which was September of 2016, and mentally NONE of them"clicked" with me till I saw yours. I currently have....or "had" the Suge Knight beard, but I have changed it to your style as of October of this year with the only difference is that I have the small"slits" in my beard where you can see my goatee a little more clearly. I too Carlos have been genetically blessed with strong healthy hair,thank God. I have a head full of dreadlocks and I think"THIS" style of a full beard will complement me,perfectly. wish me luck bro, and thank you and the whole Breardbrand crew for your page, and for being SUCH an encouragement to us men....... Beard on!

Hello Carlos. I think that all of us with a beard for a very long time is always good to make changes in the way just because you want it. The awesome thing is that our facial hair is always growing, is very dinamic just like our appearance. So there are many types of beards out there. And the best of all is that all the choices are good. Just as long as you try and like to make them. So I just went to a barber 2 weeks ago and I had it full medium size but I want to make a change and try something different and now is pretty short and I like it also. So no regrets. I get use to it little by little and I can honestly tell you that I like it a lot. So it will be very useful for us to share and have your opinion about this. If you do it, well... congratulations my friend, but also if you don't! There are no bad choices on this! Beard on!

You have a great beard now. But it will be also great short beard, medium lenght, long epic, etc. Just as long as you keep taking care of it as you do and show to us in this good videos. We all have interest of taking care of it as a daily routine in our lives. I think that beards are more connected with us and reflect a lot about our personality. They always stay with us, much more than fashion or other good and useful items for keeping a great appearance. Beard on!

I would love to see you start from the beginning, would help me a lot, your beard looks amazing, I'm also portuguese so I'm guessing we have similar genetics, so I would like to ask you something: my beard is pretty good, but I think my moustache isn't thick and has a slow growth compared to the rest of my beard, was yours like that when you were younger? on your early 20's? (my grandpa, my father and my uncle from my mother's side have really thick moustaches...my brother has a thicker moustache but not as thick as the people I previously mentioned...so I don't know, would like to hear your opinion)
@carloscosta387
@carloscosta387 8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel do L. Ola, my mustache is not that tick and that why its over grown (like well over the lip) makes it look thicker that actually is. I dont know if you trim yours close to the lip but if so and it's thin I suggest you let it grow don't trim it all all and when it's all nicely grown will look thicker and you can always use mustache wax to style it. hope this helps buddy.

I need to know how to get rid of beard curls. the right side of my beard is growing the way I want it to but the left side curls outwards. Hmm, it's possible that this is your natural terminal length. If you haven't given it a shape up or trim yet, I would definitely recommend it. It will give your beard some new life, it will even it out, and you may find it actually looks a little longer and fuller after a good shape-up! -Zach
