Hi this is just what i'm looking for, Great circuit. I would like to use it as a 12v car battery to a 12v backup battery charger, backup battery will be smaller, (trickle charging) just to keep the battery full if it drops below a few volts and then kicks in , Will it work. i had obey the full diagram and made the circuit and i any way calibration is cannot succesfully done.when i give dc supply in bttry trminal the calibration led always on,but never off by usp and lsp.is any additional made in the circuit?.plz save me.i want to make it

Do it like i have done in video. First rotate both pots complete counter clock wise. Then start calibration slowly with one pot and then other.

Hi, thank you for sharing circuit. I have it bread-boarded currently. What does R4 do? Can it be bypassed? Having problem finding one at 15R. Found 12R and 10R. I also have in my inventory of parts higher value resistors in 4-5 watt. What range will work? Thank you.

R4 is the current limiting resistor for charging, if your Charging voltage is 14.4V than with R4 @ 15 ohm your charging current is about 950mA , So D3 and R4 must be able to sustain more power up to 5W at least. 12 Ohm and 10 ohm too low will increase the charging current and power to around 10W.
