How To Make 12v Battery Charger || Full Wave (Very Simple)

In this video, we are going to show you making a fast 12v battery charger circuit. There are many kind of battery charger circuit, full wave battery charger circuit is one of them. To make this circuit, you don’t need enough electronics component. You can make this circuit at home easily.
Component list have to been given below.
Component List :
1. Transformer - 12.0.12Volt
2. Capacitor - 2200uf/25v
3. Diode - 1N5399 (2 Pieces)
4. Resistor - 1 K
5. LED - 5mm
6. Battery - 12v

WOW, WRONG, it's not a full wave, you need a bridge rectifier for full wave, also wrong not to use a fuse at the primary stage for safety, also you need about 2000 uf per amp preferably, and you should be using a regulator OR a 12v light bulb believe it or not, remember, W= V/I, so a 12 watt globe gives you 1 amp, the bulb will act as a regulator in a sense, when the battery is flat and needs charging the bulb will not glow, when full the bulb will glow and that's how it regulates the charge so as not to over charge the battery.

There should be one more diode added before connecting the battery positive terminal, else there will be reverse voltage and may burn the transformer.

Nice vid. Actualy, this is a full wave rectifier applicable for center tapped type of transformer. Rectifier bridge type rectifier will be needed if you have multi tap multi voltage transformer

There is no need for the capacitor the battery has such a low internal resistance that all the ripple current flows through the battery and hardly any through the cap.

Why use a capacitor in a charger circuit? 14.4 Volts is the maximum charging Voltage that should be applied, any higher will reduce the life of the battery through overcharging, put three 5 Amp diodes in series with the +ve feed to drop the excess Voltage. You'd be better off connecting a 1 Ohm 5 Watt resistor in parallel with the meter and measuring the Voltage across it so as to indicate the current flow, most chargers have a meter that indicates current NOT Voltage.

the transformer is too small for the battery of that size, a 6 amperes will do and change the diode rating to 10 amperes each, and its much better to bridge the diodes. the power "on" led must be put at the ac 220v lines, it will drain the charge battery when the charger is turn off and the battery is still connected

If it measures over 14.7 volts when connected it's over voltage. Once it's full it will then climb too high. Until then it's fine.
