Why not shrink-seal the white wire rather than with tape? Slide a second one on with the first and then slide over the sealed joint. They come in various sizes if the three combined are too thick.

Other commenters have no imagination. You can use a low voltage welder like this to fix battery packs among other things. Most times in a tool battery pack like Dewalt for example one single battery in the pack goes bad sometimes from corrosion. Pop that dude out of there and a new one in and your pack is back on the job. (they spot weld together)

The plug and the power strip in this vid are European, I have done some done welding in my lifetime and when he removed the carbon rod from the battery, I was suspecting the this could be an ark welder of some kind which turned out to be a spot welder; same principle. How would we need this around the house?

@@CreativeINVENTOR11 So, I guess I would have to concede the argument concerning DIY's and have the device around for the "just in cases". And yes I like to think that the skill is still there for 12 years of my 78 years I did do some welding. Yet I never did do any under water, I could not get the hang of vertical up. I did MIG, TIG, and stick.
