So grateful for your lovely demos John, as a novice who does church pedestals it’s like having a hand to hold, it’s sometimes very daunting deciding what to put where knowing everyone’s going to look at the end result, me being my own worst critic! Teaching us contrast and balance is very helpful too, I learn more from you than anywhere else. PS the arrangements are beautiful! 👏👏

What a great idea to do two arrangements side by side at the same time. I actually found it easier and far more faster then doing one by one. I know there're still a lot of people who doesn't like gypsophilia, but it has made its way back again. It just gives a starry feeling to an arrangement. John, how did you finished the back eventhough it's front facing?
@FlowerJoos5 жыл бұрын
Libra it is faster and they match better making them at the same time. For the back you can just add some short foliage to cover the foam - that’s all to finish it off.

stepps511 we have a new video lined up with an altar design - maybe we are out of synch, but it will be out in the next few weeks 😀
@stepps5115 жыл бұрын
Flower Joos Ahhh, okay. I may have misunderstood something you said in the video. In any case I’ll be on the lookout for that one. And, by the way, the new video space is great. While i didn’t mind the former space, this is good. How do you like it? You’re the one working in it. As long as you find it amenable, it’s cool. Again, thank you!
@FlowerJoos5 жыл бұрын
stepps511 thank you - yes the space is great, not having the big shelves behind that were full of stuff will be less distracting I think, and it’s more flexible to set to suit the design we are videoing. 😀

My parish has daily mass and the arrangements need to last from Sunday (arrangements are made on Saturdays) till Friday or Saturday. Does the oasis promote longevity? There seems to be a lot of mixed opinions on using floral foam. I love this arrangement style - it looks lovely and would totally work at my church! BTW, I love how you use greens!
@FlowerJoos4 жыл бұрын
mcmlxix69 well the good thing is that churches tend to be cool inside so that helps keep the flowers. In foam it shouldn’t be a problem as long as water is added every couple of days, although some flowers don’t like foam so much - such as tulips, spring flowers. Ideally flowers are best just in water - so we have another altar video showing two tied vase of flowers. These would be good, but again need checked for water, maybe a water change. But just give it a go, the foam gives you more opportunity to create a design which really shows off all the flowers! Try it in the cooler season first. 😀🙋🏼♂️
