I made a san setsu kan with using lock washers and hitching ring lag screws. It was very strong, effective and functional.

How did you link the rings together

@@shwart5561 It is easier and harder than you think. I used 7/8´´ lock washers (1´´ would work, somewhere about that size). Put the lock washer in a vice, bend it open (using a strong pliers), slip in another washer, close the washer in the vice. Repeat until you have 5 washers linked. Attach the lag screws in the staff pieces first, then put the last washer in the link in a vice, open, slip in the staff piece lag screw and close. Repeat for the other ends. Easy, but the hard because the washers I used were very strong and took a lot of persuading to open and close. Which is perfect for strength. They will never open while in use. Note: they don´t rotate, but while using the staff in all kinds of spinning moves, it functioned freely (rotation at the staff piece was not necessary). Also I used five washers. You can try six. Experimenting is easy because you can open and close the washers on the vice when ever to add or subtract links.

random question. i've seen white wax wood staff split many times so do you actually oil it every now and then to prevent it?

I have a question, Sifu : I have a pair of ball bearing swivel caps for nunchaku...would those work instead of the traditional 3-sectional staff hooks?
@wushu-kungfu-SIFU-JJ3 жыл бұрын
The best result , use the 3 sectional hooks , to make better weight and best feels when training.

Can you teach 3 sction staff
@TRUTH-4U-NOW4 ай бұрын
Learning is easier than you think. The staff is an extension of your arm. I use trees, cardboard boxes for practice. In real fights, I have taken away, nunchakus, tonfas, bo staffs and knives. If you practice well and fast (you will hurt your self), but but know which moves and positions work and are effective.
