I’m fairly new to power washing. 3 years in. I am currently dealing with this very problem. First time it’s happened. I have a buddy who I use sometimes to work with me. The side he was working on was heavily oxidized and I didn’t realize it. Now I have to fix 2 sides. I really didn’t know what to use so I went with ox Knox from south east soft wash. I’m hoping it works. Scared as hell but I have to just swallow my pride and do it. Any suggestions or advice?

As a home owner oxidation removal as a stand alone business or as an afterthought up charge sounds like nickel & diming. Just give me easy-to-understand complete package options of “Good, Better, Best” pricing. I don’t wanna hear about oxidation after a contractor has already started. I don’t wanna hear about up charges at that point. Walk around my home… Figure out what’s needed then give me the entire scope of the job. I hate the cat and mouse game… It feels scummy.

I see what you mean but not everyone is like you. They will want to know why and it never hurts to inform the home ownwr

Almost everyone wants to know what's going on with their home and what needs to be done in detail. I can tell this guy knows his shit. Nothing scummy about this whatsoever.

@@mattaaron6649 Brandon didn’t say he was- he said “it feels” as someone with just as much experience in this field. He’s right, there’s a better way to present it. And If “not everyone is her” is the answer then just accept the fact that if you can’t differentiate your consumers need from another previous you will lose a lot of clientele that could be reoccurring. That simple. Communication is fundamental. But what do I know I’ve only make a few 100k on home improvement and I don’t have a KZbin channel 🤷🏽♂️

Unfortunately a lot of clients will watch everything you do and ask questions and I had an old Asian man watching me using a nail gun and nailing off skirting boards, architraves etc I even used liquid nails and PVA wood glue supplied by the biulder! And even now after over 20years of glass and Aluminum joinery trade? People watch and ask questions? Like as if I have no idea! Lol. When I am sent to fix someone's stuff up? Some leave you alone. Some ask a million questions: Eg; is that paint gonna last? Don't you have to prime it? I do it to manufacturers specification and I've never had a callback. Except one biulder asked can you waterproof around the leaky window? And fix the leak? First thing I saw : no weepholes? So I drilled weepholes and tested and sweet. Ran a nice thick bead of sikaflex around the perimeter. Next day waterproof in acrylic membrane. Membrane supplied by the biulder too.i even told him when using acrylic membrane I have to apply thick coating like buttermilk. That s how I was taught in waterproof course. The stupid owner complained about it looks messy. So she got up on the roof and she is scraping off the membrane! As soon as he told me you put on too thick bla bla bla! I said supplied and I told you. You said it will never be seen. Because it's getting painted with a thick coating of paint for roof tiles. I still used a paint brush etc. You can't please everyone unfortunately! Everyone is a know it all! Cheers

Mr. Brandon, I wash houses here in Tennessee. I started in Maryland back in 1992. A lot has changed since then. I totally agree on what you are saying. That is the exact way I price every job. I won't even price it without the customer standing there with me. I know it takes more time doing it that way but I never have a disappointment customer. Let customer know what is needed to clean their house and stand by your work

One of my questions that’s bothering me. One you show up to your customers house? Do you use there water to do your pressure washing? How’s that work with you and the customer? Are they okay with you using their water?
@oughtought4683 жыл бұрын
I absolutely use their water every time, even on most of the commercial work I do. I have a 100 gallon buffer tank and fill as I go with the customers water. I have only had 1 customer question the usage of her water and explained in my area water runs $9.50 for 750 gallons of city water and the job would take around 400 gallons. Or she could pay me to haul water. She provided the water : )

Oh yeah! I need to move to America. Easy job too. In Australia I did a few huge rooves! I blasted the whole roof on this one house which from the street looks like a church! The pay was bad. I look at cars after some restoration on a 1979 GMH Holden Torana. I started one and lost interest when I met my first girl!( young ) and dumb Lol. Bought another rolling she'll and a lot of welding, rust repairs, etc. In Australia the UV is horrible. I bought extreme heavy duty tarps with a 20 year guarantee. 3 years later? Still ok but signs of perishing. It takes a good eye and experience to see that chalky look. In certain situations! If you clean the oxidation do you respray or put a special protective coating? I would love to know? In Australia UV and humidity , storm season etc. Ruins every household. External anyway!

Hey Justin. Thank you for all the great info… always. Question.. Towards the end of this video, one of the guys is using an extension wand to wash windows. Is there a link to that extension wand? Speaking of extension wands, what telescoping pressure wand do you recommend using? Do all of them have the coil of hose that feeds up to the top? Or are there any higher end ones that actually are pressure wands without the external coil of hose? Thank you again, E.
