How did you get a stimikey tune and how much was it

I was one of the lucky 21’s to have an unlocked ecu 🙏🏻 and it was 650 for the tune and 150 to rent the dyno.

No. BMW Checks saved parameters against a database of stock parameters (max top speed, max acceleration, Mass Air Flow, etc.). These are saved in the ABS unit along with a few others. Can’t really fake that stuff. They don’t even check the ECU at this point.

JB4 isn't a OTS tune its a piggy back that increases boost by tricking the map sensor into thinking the car is making less boost. Just adds boost with no fuel or timing. I had it on a GTI and it was terrible and would make the car go lean and have boost cuts. OTS tune is a real Tune that adds timing and fuel and other parameters made on a Dyno with the specific platform. OTS tunes have been used in the EURO game for a very long time and can be extremely Reliable and make good power. Dyno or Custom tune is needed more when you want add bigger power like a bigger turbo with a fuel system. Dyno tune on a simple mod car is more of a waste of $$ unless you just want a sheet. OTS tunes will make similar or more power depending on tuner and saved about half or more cost of a dyno tune and with ECUTECK i can run multiple maps in one OTS tune.. Just saying OTS tunes are made by most bmw and Euro tuners and even the ones you mentioned and they are a great option for someone looking at just waking the car up and isn't chasing 700whp.

It’s one of those things I would say only 25% of 2021 owners are having this issue and it’s mostly resolved by staying on top of your oil changes
