To everyone… if you go to a war zone, like Iraq & Afghanistan, the living conditions could be a little rough. And we worked 12 a day 7 days a week. Qatar was 10 hours a day 6 days a week, but the living conditions were awesome! 5 bedroom villa with a California king bed. Iraq and Afghanistan was bunk beds and cots.

I knew I fucked with you heavy when I discovered your page last December... studying for the new Sec+ exam as we speak and I recently did the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certification over the last month... decided to take a sneak peek at your bookshelf and 'Creature from Jekyll Island' and 'The Fourth Industrial Revolution' tells me all I need to know about you. You see the bigger picture and I respect you for sharing this information in these times to people of your likeness... not that it should be limited to them, but I can appreciate you doing your best to get the message out there that no matter how one looks or what one's background is... that there are avenues available for us. We'll need it more and more in these times... glad I'm getting started top of 2024, can't wait to start applying for jobs!

Finding your channel has been a blessing. I’ve spent the past 8 years working as an EMT. I got into government contract work on the EMS side for disaster response which pays very well, but you work 7 days a week for months on end with no time off and you can’t bring your family. I’ve been looking into getting into tech and I started with web development, but over time I feel like I might be more aligned with cybersecurity. Thanks for the great content.

Thanks Beez! You mentioned your contract in South Korea was 6 months with the pay being 210k / year. Did the company pay the total 210k within 6 months or more so an equivalent of what 210k would be over a year? My second question is about working "remotely" while overseas. Were you allowed to work from home (your apartment) some days? These questions are open to anyone's feedback. I am very interested in working overseas as a GC.

I was never military and from the US. Got a masters (humanities subject), teaching in other countries, recently earned a CompTIA Security+, been applying for IT jobs with govt for overseas for months on clearance jobs, contractor sites directly and still got nothing so far. Unfortunately it looks like a lot of people are lying on the internet either to sell a course or get paid on youtube.

I recommend if you're having trouble with Sec+, start with the fundamentals. Use Professor Messor's A+ and Network+ to build Sec+. Sec+ assumes you either have Cybersecurity experience already or have done A+ and Network+. You don't have to take the exam for A+ and Network+ but if you watch those videos on Professor Messor's KZbin channel and learn them, Sec+ will come easier to you. Best of luck!

I’m a 20 year vet, I have my SEC+, and two years of helpdesk but I keep getting rejected. My resume has been looked at and doctored up by a person whose side job was to make résumé’s great as their full-time job was helping people get hired in IT roles. I’m also college educated, any tips?
@symonebeez10 ай бұрын
Japan is a hard country to land a contract in, there aren't that many roles. I would say to try to redo your resume using chatgpt and tailor it to the job descriptions you are applying to. Also I'd expand your search outside of japan. I applied to every technical role I saw overseas and it was between Japan or Isreal for me.
