Kind of new to after effects and all this is going over my head. From the project file, can I just replace the audio file and have the visualizer do it's thing? How can I go about that? I have trapcode and all of that. Thanks!
@Workbenchtv3 жыл бұрын
We're a channel aimed at advanced users so it makes sense that it's hard to follow. ;) Using Trapcode SoundKeys would get you the best results. I don't have a tutorial on how to use it, so you'd probably want to check out RedGiant's site for that. After that, you need to add two slider controls and rename them Amplitude Multiplier and Frequency Multiplier. Then you'd need to add the expressions I added to the Wave World effect. Hold opt/alt and click on the stopwatch to add expressions. The expressions can be copied from our site and it explains which one goes where -> workbench.tv/tutorials/2020-02-20_3DVisualizer

Speaking of sound, audio for this is high quality even in a loud cafe with dollar store earbuds. Or all the other channels have gotten me used to scuffed audio.

Haha, thanks! I use Accusonus plugins for sweetening, although my on cam mic clipped on me for some odd reason. But their de-clipper is nice.

Just curious: how accurate (if at all) are the units of the "height of the wave" in your animation related to real world data ? I've been trying to find out "how tall is 1db / 10b/ 100db etc sine wave at xxx #amplitude# (or whatever the correct parameter is). No real application. Just a kind of "why is the sky blue" question :)
@Workbenchtv Жыл бұрын
Not at my computer at the moment, but most effects in AE don’t relate to real world units (unless they list them in the controls). That said, you can make your own by just using the height as your own scale. The decibel scale is logarithmic and I think each value doubles the next. So if you pick a random value to represent 1db you can then double it to show 2db, and so on to compare.

Hi, is there any way to change the shape for this effect?
@Workbenchtv3 жыл бұрын
Not really. You might be able to rig something using the ground settings but it would probably be weird.

i have a few questions, dose this react to my desktop audio, do i need music files? is it already prerendered so i cant add new files? is it a video file?
@Workbenchtv3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed your comment. You need to put a sound/music file in After Effects and convert the audio to keyframes as shown in the tutorial.

hi , plz is the layer boundaries shape is editable to another layout other than rectangular

No, but you might be able to make a map for the ground so that it's too high to have water/wireframe around the edges.

Look effect and look. The glows and textured embellishments give it a nice polished look. Very nice. By the way, what's the deal with the LUT? You have a LUT pack that you used here?

I don’t know how you figure that, but it’s 3D. It’s a plane and the sound affects it on the perpendicular plane.

@Peter If you're using SoundKeys as I have it set up, you'll need to modify the ranges to fit your song (Range 1 Corner 1, Range 1 Corner 2, etc.). Then you have to go to the bottom of the effect where it has Commands and hit the Apply button. Soundkeys needs to calculate to set it's Output values which is what we're looking at. Without doing that, you're still using the data I set up.
