"I didn't know how to 3D print last week." Well, I think you did a pretty darned awesome job! And I can't believe how smooth and shiny you got the helmet mold! Crazy good! But I can't believe you stopped with that level of cliffhangeriness!!! Nooooooo!!!!!!! Must see next episode!!

And it was PLA!! Maybe I should start using it more often, it's a hell of a lot easier to print than ABS... (although I've heard it's a nightmare to paint)

lol I remember I made this helmet also for a festival. I didn't have an oven so I used my barbeque grill instead. I probably went through 20 sheets before the i got the dome right. It was mostly human error, like not centering it. or trying to transfer the plastic from hot oven in a cold night onto the mold, and wrong tempurture where it burned the plastic. This video is awesome, thank you for going though the same experience, it brought up a lot of memory of my younger days making this without a 3d printer lol

@@Estefannie Thank you for your reply, I thought I saw in one of your videos giving thanks to someone for helping you with the programming. we have sent a couple messages to you previously and was hoping you could assist with a few questions. I have sent you an email to the email that is listed in your about me section here. We have all the parts wired, however when we upload and run it, the lights are on blue, not solid but flickering very fast. The pot with the dial and board dont seem to be working. Is it possible that you can offer some assistance? On your board there were also 2 yellow wires that I was unsure for their purpose as well. Thank you so much

Yep... The hardest part... Heating up the schtuff to form it. Don't feel bad. I know what it's like to peel plastic from my oven grate. I've had so many problems doing the lid for the treasure chest case that is the hardest, and most complex part of my portable computer project that I have resorted to re-enforcing the original mold, and using that as the lid. What I'm ending up with looks to be a layered mess of aluminum, polycarbonate, and wood. But that mess is actually starting to look like the lid of a treasure chest. At least I got the actual computer part of it done, minus the battery pack. It boots, does the interwebs, and plays my DVDs. But I can't use it until it's all one unit.
