The tension in this whole build process was palpable, even a year and a half later. That's one very impressive helmet! (Note to self: allocate 80% of project time for sanding. So much sanding...)

I was listening to daft punk right now and I decided to search here for "making a daft punk helmet" I watch your videos and I wasnt disappointed!! You have amazing skills and earned my respect and sub!!!

Amazing work.. an acquaintance from the RPF made this helmet some years ago and it took months to sculpt and find parts and build and wire (not to mention his years of prop making knowledge) to make and he sold it for a very large undisclosed sum to an undisclosed buyer and I always thought this standard would be out of reach for the 'hobby maker' but you did it, under time pressure and the end result is stunning... this is really impressive!

That turned out really cool and I would normally not approve of wasting ribbon cable, but this is a perfectly acceptable place to put it hehe
@MajChronic5 жыл бұрын
Stellar job. One tip for tinting visors in the future...spray the inside of the visor as opposed to the outside. There's no need to clear-coat the inside as nobody will see it and it's not needed on the outside. You also won't chip or scratch the tint should you bang or drop it and can easily buff out small outside surface scratches with automotive wax. I've done it on rc car bodies to protect the paint and it gives the visor more depth of colour because you're looking through that thin layer of clear. Otherwise, fanfreakintastic work.

Awesome job on the helmet! I'm currently working on making one, the instructables guide doesn't cover the electronics portion very well. Do you have a bill of materials used or any recommendations or a guide forthe making the LEDS portion? I saw AlexplusLeds, but his kits are a bit pricey.
