One point you missed that is scoping of the project. Also there are mainly 4 departments of game dev game design, programming, Art and testing. Sound design is external, and animation sound all comes under game art. 12:55 actually it is possible to make a AAA game with few people but you have to keep constraints. There's a game called hellblade, this is a AAA game made in UE4 developed by ninja theory, budget was 10M dollars, which is guiet huge for indian developers but not that much huge for US or canadian or UK based developers, and this game was built by only 20 people, yeah game is close world not open world, not a very huge game in terms of play time, evnvironement, n all. but yeah, for making AAA game, needed skill set is very high means very high, as a artist you have to be literally expert in art, like modelling 3d assets and 2d works in required art style and for targetted platform, same for design and programming and animation.

Heya, I read your comment, So firstly I admit I forgot to mention about QA department (testing) while i do mention it more in the part 2 of this video. and yes sound department can be counted under art department too.. however this department segmentation thing differs from studio to studio. Now secondly , about hellblade. so yes I played the game and followed their development journey too. But see their are two things. 1. They themselves described their game as an Indie AAA, they don't call it exactly AAA even its upto mark. 2. Their budget is not a small budget, it's still a huge amount of money even for them. A lot of 2000s AAA titles were made in a similar budget. and even today, many well produced Hollywood films are made in even smaller budgets. And one more fact that.. those 20 people were just the core development team, but if you check the game's credits it was made by 119 professionals + 82 additional helpers. So it being a small team is a myth. and budget was smaller in comparison to today's AAA games, but still a very big money,
