Thank you for that! You're clear and concise, but I'm missing some measurements. What width of fabric would you recommend? I've seen so many different suggestions I'm confused. I'd like to make slings from 70cm wide shawls which I'd line with flannel. Is that enough? They are over 2m long. Thank you in advance!

70cm should be a good width, you just want to be sure the shawls have a complex weave. Flannel generally is not recommended, similar to quilting cotton, as it can rip if it catches and you want to make sure to be using materials that will be safe for baby. You may be able to use if it is double thickness. More info on appropriate fabrics here: www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/fabric.html

@@KendraMakes Thanks so much! The article is also very helpful. I have 3 months left to experiment before becoming a grandmother, and your advice kickstarted me!

How long is the fabric
@KendraMakes5 жыл бұрын
This was 2 meters although sizing can be variable depending on how long you want the tail and your own size. More info on sizing here if you’re interested: www.sleepingbaby.net/size.php

Can you tell me where you purchase your metal ring?

Did you mention how many yards of fabric you have for this pattern?
@queenEsther3183 жыл бұрын
This is an easier way to sew a sling than I have ever done it (I use pleats around the ring to add strength so there is no chance of fraying) but I usually use 2 yards of fabric. It leaves a lovely tail for most women so if they are modest and in public they can use it to cover up while feeding their precious cargo. It might help to iron a crease where you want the fabric pinned to use as a guide. Good luck!!!

We have a giant costco teddy bear that I was thinking about making into a puppet. Can you do a DIY video on how to make overly large teddy bears into puppets?
