How to Make a Baguette, American, or Pasta Rolling Pin

Learn how to turn a baguette or French rolling pin, American style rolling pin, or pasta rolling pin. You'll learn the woodturning skills you need to turn a rolling pin on your lathe. The baguette or French rolling pin has tapered ends and no handles. The American style features handles on each end. The pasta rolling pin features a series of grooves that cut pasta dough into thin noodles.

I would not use olive oil. It could become rancid. A better alternative that is food safe is Mineral oil. Walnut oil is also a good choice as you said. Love the pasta cutter and the technique for the rolling pin!!

Thnks for you many years of craftsmanship! Do you like PEAR wood for a rolling pin? WOW! It seems you will not be using bearings! So! the handle simply RIDES on the central pin that goes THROUGH it and is glued into the roller! I knew there was a way to make a rolling pin totally from wood!
