That size PVC can also fit a pool noodle over it really easily and snug. So you should be able to cut a pool noodle about a foot long then cap it on one end and make a huge nerf dart.

You need a way of getting fresh air in there too. A connection for an air mattress pump or compressor blow nozzle would be a wacky addition.

Add a little squirt of starter fluid and O2 in there. It’ll add a huge boost. We did that with the legendary potato gun.

Isnt pvc kind of dangerous to be using for stuff like this, especially when combustion is involved? Kind of always thought pvc got brittle from that type of thing. Probably should use metal pipe...

Solid schedule 40 PVC is more than strong enough for this type of low pressure combustion. PVC does degrade over time with UV light but that can be prevented if you paint it.
