Hey beautiful! ✿ It’s Gina from orchidandopal.com. In today's beading tutorial, I will show you how to make a quick and easy DIY beaded chain lanyard. This versatile technique can make face mask lanyards, badge and eyeglass holders, necklaces, bracelets, and so much more! The wire link chains can be made with beads to match any style, wire in your choice of colors, and to any length you desire. The sky's the limit! Please see below for info and links to recommended products:
✿ MATERIALS LIST (QTY depends on length)
✔ 24 gauge permanently colored wire
shrsl.com/2ghug
✔ Beads of choice
shrsl.com/2ghuk
✔ 2 Lobster Clasps
shrsl.com/2ghuo
✔ Wire Cutters, Round Nose Pliers, Chain Nose Pliers
shrsl.com/2gi4j
✿ I really like the 24 gauge Benecreat brand wire from Beebeecraft, which is what I am using in the demonstration. The gold tone is a bit on the brassy side, but the finish does not flake or peel. The coral chips are from beadboxbargains.com, and the 5mm Czech glass fire polish beads are from the Dollar Bead Box: bit.ly/2BTkV0P.
✿ In the video I show another variety of finished beaded chain, which incorporates agate pebble beads. Those beads are from the August 2020 Bargain Bead Box subscription: bit.ly/2EGlCyj
(Use Code OPAL2 at checkout for $2 off first month). The video for that unboxing is here: • Bargain Bead Box Month...

Gina, I so enjoy your videos and your voice is so easy to listen to! It is a shame you have to say anything about “bullying, hate speech, etc.” as we should all be considerate of those issues. Thank you, though, for the gentle reminders! In this video you mention, and maybe I didn’t react carefully enough, that you have “discussed” the coral beads in the plastic box before but I didn’t see any info on them listed below. Again, please excuse my lack of attention if I missed something, but it you didn’t would you mind bringing me up to speed on them? Thank you!

Thanks, Mimi! 99% of the time there are no issues, but sadly, being the internet you can get some "doozies." LOL. Anyway, I had shared a look at those coral beads in a Bead Box Bargains order from June, if you'd like to take a closer look at the strands. I am not sure, but they may still have some available. Thanks so much for watching!

This is a great idea, but I am finding that the elastic can be quite wide, and that calls for a larger lobster clasp. I'm having a problem finding an economical source for larger clasps. Any suggestions?
@ORCHIDandOPAL
@ORCHIDandOPAL 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharane! Thanks for asking. My first suggestion is to try to fold the elastic in half, to fit the clasp that you already have on hand, and just double-check to see if that works. If not, you can find larger lobster clasps at craft suppliers, and online retailers like Amazon: amzn.to/2FZUcFD (50 clasps for $8 - 21x10mm)

Hi Sharon! I used to feel the same way. If you just start with trying to make a single link, then repeat the process several times, you may find that it gets a little bit better each time. Wire can be challenging, so don't feel bad! :)
