I love the bed caddy and how simple it is to make. I had an idea where else to place one. The night stand. It would serve as a table topper and the pockets on the side for your things. I had to share!

I love this pattern. I've watched a few times But i finally finished in time for mothers day. She's not really mom but as close to one as I've got. And i used the cabin quilt pattern. To match the quilt and pillows I also made her. I think she is gonna love her set. Thank you.

Hi Laura finally made mine! Size wise it was inbetween your two with pockets for Kindle and 3 others but oops, I didnt sew down my pockets until I had added all the binding. Tip - if someone else does the same start sewing the pockets from the bottom up towards the opening to allow for "travel" - I had to undo the first stitching line due to this. Thank you for the tutorial.

Thanks for this video, Laura. I'm going to make the wider version so I can store my laptop and cell phone while they charge overnight... and for some added pockets for books, hand lotion, etc. What a great idea. p.s. It was great to meet you in person at Quilt Canada last summer. Still enjoying all of your YT videos! ~Diana from Toronto

Hi Laura I have made the larger one for my grand children for Christmas. I got some fabric from IKEA which is made to colour in, I got them to do that and then made that as the pockets. They look great and I am very pleased with them ,unfortunately I'm not sure how to add a photo to this comment otherwise I would do so. Thank you for a great tutorial.

I have a question about the part where you attach the binding. After you sew the quarter of an inch and fold it over, do you sew again to attach the binding to the back? Would a double-fold binding work so that you can just sew once then? Would you use a continuous binding tape for the binding especially for the larger pocket? (I'm making the larger for my daughter's dorm.) Also, did you miter the corners when sewing the binding to the final caddy? I can't tell from the video? Thanks!
@SewVeryEasy6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it will need to go to the back side and stitched down, you could do as you said and use a double-fold binding. Both work great and yes I did miter the corners. Thanks for asking

Hey Laura! I am about to finish my first quilt and realized something. My machine sits on an existing table in my sewing room. How do I find a table for my sewing machine to fit in for quilting my quilts? It needs to be flush but I don't know where to begin to find one. Also, what about long arm machines? Is it easy to find a used one perhaps cuz brand new ones are way too expensive for me, since quilting is a hobby. Any help? Thank you!
@SewVeryEasy7 жыл бұрын
I'm still looking into long-arms but see if you can built a flat area with boxes and a lot of tape around your machine

I'm afraid the fabric will slide out from under the bed with the weight. Any suggestions on how to prevent this?
@SewVeryEasy9 жыл бұрын
+Darlene LaHaise you could make the piece that goes under the mattress longer/bigger or put a piece of Velcro along the edge that goes under the mattress. Hope this helps:)
@7459serenity7 жыл бұрын
SewVeryEasy SewVeryEasy. Thanks for the video. I made this and I too had an issue with it slipping all the time. To help with it sliding out from the weight of my item. I sewed that rubber shelf liner you buy at the dollar store (or any big box store.) as that makes an excellent none slip backing for that and a lot of other projects too. Mine was 30 inches long so I cut a 30x the 10 inches that was sandwiched between my mattress. Now it NEVER slips. I made a pincushion with a thread catcher attached and it too always fell off the table. That's where I got the idea for the bedside organizer. I have learned a lot from you and for that I say God bless you and thanks for sharing your gift with us.
