I have a back injury that took me away from sewing for a few years. I now have a pain psychologist that recommended that I set a 5 minute timer when I sit down to sew then take a break and lay down for 1/2 hour. I have put together 4 appliquéd quilt tops in the last 7 months starting off with 5 minutes and progressing slowly to 15 minutes. She proved to me that I could enjoy my hobby just in bite sized pieces 😊

Boy can I understand this. Now that I am a Sr citizen all the fun I had previously has come back to haunt me in the form of pain. Age is wonderful LOL. I will try bits at a time, thanks for the tip.

I'm 53 and never attempted a quilt before, and I'm so pleased to have found this channel. I'm a little familiar with sewing basics, but worry I'll get frustrated and give up before I finish. Does anyone have tips for how to plan and actually complete a full sewing project? I really want to try but there's so much to learn, and most folks I find have been doing it for YEARS, it all just feels a bit overwhelming to get started.

I've been quilting about 4 years now and while I don't consider myself a beginner, beginner, I'm definitely not advanced. I learned to quilt from KZbin videos. I very much appreciate Jenny and MSQ more generally for creating content for EVERYONE regardless of skill level. I also like these videos designated as "beginner" because I know going in that it's something in my wheel house. Quilt blocks can be deceptive, especially because MSQ makes many more accessible. But I like knowing, this is a thing I can do fairly quickly and I'm going to be confident.
