It takes the finest ingredients, a certain amount of finesse, and the skills that only Bond has acquired over time to make the best cocktails...or does it? Dressing Like Bond's Harris Thomas joins me to discuss the How To's of making a Bond Cocktail and stirs up some laughter and mayhem along the way! Bring on the GIN!

When David is not running an advertising and marketing company, his hobby is The Bond Experience which is primarily a video blog where he discusses Bond experiences and the people and brands that help to create those experiences...
The mantra of living like Bond, one moment at a time emanates from a concept of experiencing the joy of collecting small moments in life that add up to amazing journeys and stories....whether it's through style, locations, literature, fitness, and the movies themselves the world of Bond is explored through its people and their stories.
Ultimately though, The Bond Experience channel is a celebration of the James Bond franchise and the many people that form a true community. Our core mission is to create a strong connection in the Bond community amongst all the fans, regardless of interest or demographic.

Hello from England The Bond Franchise and its popularity because of all the escapism they offered. My late parents only met at work in March 1963 and married 6 months later so in 1962 my Dad was 33 and my mom was 36 and they told me that the 50's WAS DRAB and so much BLACK AND WHITE and they just lived their HUM DRUM lives. When they saw Dr No at the cinema everything turned to TECHNICOLOUR. My parents had more disposable income around that time and COCKTAILS were something new for them. A new experience. After they were married they would be going out much more, dressed up to the 9's and would also be invited out to works "do"s and in the hotels it would be "COCKTAIL HEAVEN" and it was all so GLAMOROUS. That is what the first 6 Bond films were - just so glamorous!!

As a former bar manager, I do have a deep appreciation for cocktails. Being able to tailor a drink to your own tastes is definitely up there as a "Bond Experience". Excellent use of garnishes, and I commend the use of Fever Tree! For anybody who finds the bitterness of regular tonic water a bit too harsh on their palate, I'd recommend trying Fever Trees Mediterranean tonic; it has a more delicate, floral note that would pair well with the ingredients - so this is something anybody (of legal drinking age) can try! Cheers, gentlemen! 🍸

Very cool comment! I'm actually very fond of the bitterness of tonic water. In fact, I'm wondering if you'd be so kind as to recommend an especially bitter tonic water. Cheers.

@@nightmaster5593 I personally recommend Fever Tree for all tonic water needs, in which case you'd want either their Indian Tonic Water, or their low-calorie Indian tonic water if calories matter to you. However, you can actually get tonic syrups that you can dilute yourself with soda water, and therefore create a concentration of bitterness to suit your tastes! I've never tried the syrups personally, but I've heard good things about Jack Rudy Tonic Syrup! Whichever way you decide to go, I recommend pairing it with a particularly dry gin to enhance the bitterness of the tonic, and keeping the garnish simple with a slice of lemon or lime!

Been enjoying Botanist gin with Fever Tree and a lot more lime than most use. I've got some rosemary growing too, never thought to pluck it. I did use some fresh mint from the herb garden for mint juleps, though.

VERY interested to watch this, as gin and tonics are my bread and butter (kind of like Harris, apparently - I don't eat much, but I like to drink well!) When I first moved to America I was in for a shock, since most gin and tonics served in the places I first went to were made with Tanqueray (which is disgusting.) It's also really cool to hear what your favorite gin brands are (since until recently my gin of choice was "anything but Tanqueray".) This was a next-level gin and tonic though. Harris really knows his stuff.

I have heard of this gin and will have to try it. The juniper berries and rosemary are a great idea. Yes, the "Fatima Blush" I am loving that.

It's an excellent gin, very traditional with a strong juniper flavour but very well balanced. It's from Berry Brothers and I'm pretty confident that the No3 must refer to the shop's address on St James'. If you're looking for a perfect Martini gin, I'd recommend Jensen's Bermondsey Dry. Smooth enough to drink on its own...

Here in the UK fevertree is a widely available common tonic for drinks - unusual how it’s seen as premium in the States!
