Let me show you how to make a Bow Drill Bow that's easy to build, string up, adjust, and a keeper for your practice bow. Also, I show you how to make and string up a quickie, sort of a disposable bow that will also spin up an ember, but then used to fuel the fire. Please follow the LINKs below and SUBSCRIBE. Thank You! Thanks for a wonderful tutorial! You do some much better than so very many self-proclaimed "experts"!

I wish there were more people interested in this one. Even so, it's the very type of tutorial that would have helped me immensely when I was first starting out with bow drill, but I could not find one like it. I'm happy to add it to my catalogue for that reason alone.

You're right - when I did steel erecting we used to use strops (steel cable ties) that way when we lifted beams with the crane. They never slip - the weight pressure holds the connection tight when lifted. No need for knots or shackles.

Another fantastic tutorial. Easy to follow and learn from because of your teaching style. Question...do you ever get an ember from your bearing block?
@DavidWestBgood2ppl3 жыл бұрын
In all these years and after hundreds of bow drill friction fires, never. The bearing block may smoke a lot, but the real friction is happening on the fire board.

What size rope and what kind of rope is the best, I have trouble with it slipping on the spindle. I bought 550 para cord I think it’s to small maybe.
@DavidWestBgood2ppl Жыл бұрын

Na i prefer a sling tied to one end of a stick This allows you to keep the drill stable even when you put it aside since its raped around the drill twice And It lets you control the tension with your thumb No need to get the drill string mounted right It reduces the stress on your cord And other advanteges
