I love how normal you all are and live in a normal home, not a mansion while helping the rest of us .. helps encourage me. . God bless your work.

I moved out of my marital home 4 weeks ago. Almost two weeks ago I was told to self isolate because I came into contact with someone who has tested positive. After a good cry I went to your channel. I was reminded that I am okay. My emergency fund is small especially after having had to recently move BUT it is there and I am fine. I am eating out of my pantry and freezer just fine. I have everything I need not to mention increased motivation to get out of debt and fatten up the emergency fund. Thanks again Tawra and Mike- keep the videos coming!

When I was in high school I had a wonderful teacher who taught us how to budget by percentage. It is nothing like the percentage people use now. People expect to have many more perks and convenience than we did in the early 70s.

I find so much useful information in all your videos. Planning where my money goes is my responsibility and that means adhering to a simple budget that includes regular savings. I like how the two of you build each other up recognizing your individual strengths and weaknesses. A debt free life equals freedom. My bank offers a dashboard of budget categories I check often and am gratified to see I’m consistently under budget these days.

I LOVE budgeting!! We are a family of 4 and our weekly grocery budget is $50. It works fine. 👌

My problem is that half the time there is no money left over. And I use grocery money for bills and eat from the stockpile. Recreation? What's that? That got cut out years ago. Public library (free) and KZbin which is part of the cell phone bill.

So true. In order to reduce debt and build wealth, live below your means. Also realize NEED versus WANT.

Great video! We are in Texas and with that winter storm that just went through, our electric bill was just under $2000 for three days😳😳😳. Not the norm at all. What a nightmare.

With gas and electric bill I put myself on their budget plan and lowered my bill by $90-$100 a month. At the end of the year if I have a credit coming they apply it to the next bill. Winter in Pa has been brutal this year!👍🥶❄️☃️💰

I live in Texas. This winter has been the only time in 2 years I've turned the heater on. Gonna hate to see next bill.

Actually eating healthy can be pretty cheap so don't let that be an excuse to spend more. :-) Thanks for watching!

Check with your utilities, and see if they have a budget plan for my natural gas bill, it's $72.00 a month that seems like a lot but when it our bill, was $180.00 for one month several years ago my eye ball's, almost fell out so even in July, it would be $7.80 cents, I like knowing that it's a set price no more eye balls falling out :)

but how do you determine your electric or power bills? Mine is different every month.
@LivingOnADime3 жыл бұрын
Budget for the highest and then use the leftover to pay debt on the months that it's not the highest.

Tell us how to save on electric. That is a huge expense. Love this video!
@vickieclark59313 жыл бұрын
Not using the heater or air conditioner is the biggest way to save. Those will quadruple your monthly bill alone.

Don't forget to calculate infrequent expenses (property taxes, insurance, car registration) yearly, divide by 12 and add that to the monthly expenses. I have a separate account where I deposit money monthly for taxes, insurance, etc. Then I have the money available when the bills come.
