In the 80’s my grandmother would make a wreath for every teacher we had. Grandpa would use the hanger and form a hook- and she would wire candy to the wreath. It was so awesome to give as a gift. We used floral wire. People don’t do this stuff anymore.

@kellydude88 the sissores are for when you take a piece of candy off of the wearth because the candys are tied on so you can snip it off.

My family once had the idea to decorate our tree with different colored candy canes. We came home one night to find the tree down on the floor. Both of our dogs were acting guilty, but only one had minty fresh breath. This too is cute.

We had to make candy wreaths in Spanish class as a project...I don't know what it has to do with Spanish..but it's awesome to carry around, show off, and sell candy to people off of afterwards. (:

A Candy Wreath with Jolly Ranchers-- what a brilliant idea! Thanks for posting a kid-friendly craft that everyone can do! Happy Holidays from Tea

No. If you tie it on, it will only come off when you cut the string.

This would be great for Halloween with the orange and black wrapped peanut butter taffees that are so inexpensive.
@CnMSteffani15 жыл бұрын
I have done these for several years. Its easier to use floral wire and wrap using just that and not cut small pieces of string. Either way they are fun to do and not to hard to make.

I've seen these before, but never with scissors attached! Brilliant! I'm doing this this year for sure! Maybe as part of Advent or Christmas countdown... I could attach enough candies so each of my three kids could take one each day leading up to Christmas! OOOhh, I'm excited to try this! Thanks! :)
@HydrosReef14 жыл бұрын
@kellydude88 You need an extra bowl for when your sitting tieing the strings to candy you can put the ones that are already done in the other bowl. The scissors are for cutting the candy off instead of yanking it off. Tie the string to the candy on one of the ends that are twisted. Then, with the rest of the string double knot to the wire hanger.

I have med these for a while but I use curling ribbon. It gives the wreath a little more color and you only have to use 2 pounds instead of 3 and the ribbon left leaves a little decoration after cutting off candy
