Because the ham fisted animals at some coffee establishments are not consistent with their process or technique because they are not real baristas. So many times I go to this coffee shop at the airport where I worked and the same few peeps made my coffee and they did it differently and I experienced different tastes from the same order over and over. Some use 2 pumps some use 1, some put the steamed milk in first then the shot after to find not enough room so I dont get a full shot. Some extract longer and all kinds of things you can do differently they would. Instead of all working the same way in harmony lol

Seriously you are professional bro and i love this video. Coffee Types: Cappuccino Café Latte Macchiato Mochaccino Cafè Americano Espresso Long Black Flat White Irish Coffee Vienna Affogato. CAPPUCCINO: Possibly the most popular type of coffee in the world, a cappuccino consists of three layers (kind of like a cake). The first is a shot of espresso, then a shot of steamed milk, and finally the barista adds a layer of frothed, foamy milk. This final layer can also be topped with chocolate shavings or powder. Traditionally, Italians would consume this type of coffee at breakfast.

There is so much debate about whether this is a cappuccino or a latte. This is why I love coffee. There are so many different ways that you can make it. If you went from one cafe to the next, they would almost always do something different. It will never be exactly the same.

Guys,I'm Italian so let me explain a couple of things: 1) Name: this is a modern cappuccino,the one you find almost everywhere. Is def.not a latte(correct definition:"Caffelatte" as latte in Italian means just "milk" nothing else) 2) Technic: correct, only misses the foam. Espresso + lil.% of milk + milk foam. If you exceed with milk you are turning your cappuccino into a Caffelatte( "latte") 3) The Barista ALWAYS has to ask you if you want your cappuccino with hot or cold milk (mandatory in Italy if not...change bar 😂). Up to you usually is hot milk. 4) The cappuccino has a lot of foam on top. At least this was what my Grandpa always drinks. Hope this helps :)

all of you saying that this is just a latte because it doesnt have foam on top need to understand that by making the foam wet and pouring it correctly, he is just actually letting the foam go in the espresso first before rising up, if you leave your foam just on top of your espresso and not letting it mix well, you would have an unbalanced drink, this is how a cappuccino looks like it just looks wet because of how he textured the foam

some baristas don't dollop out the 1/3 foam on top, they incorporate more air into the milk as they steam it, so it still has the correct ratio of steamed milk to foam. if he were to weigh it compared to a latte, this would be lighter. the purpose is so he can still do an art design on the crema.

I still didnt find the differences between cappucino & latte on this video. How to make steam milk has more foam? & How to make steam milk without foam?
@kaygee3018 жыл бұрын
No, both lattes and cappuccinos have foam and you do not need to use a spoon, you just make less foam for a latte. To make a cappuccino you have the steam wand in the very surface of the milk until you can hear this sound like tearing paper, but not so high that it is creating a crap ton of bubbles and keep this position until the milk is 35 degrees or so, depends on the machine, but you can also look to see how far the milk seems to have grown in the jug, then insert the steam wand about an inch into the milk until it reaches 60-65 degrees or so. Personally I think that the above vid shows more of a latte than a cap. because there was not enough foam. For the latte you just do less of the "shallow insert". It is hard to show without demonstrating but perhaps there are more useful vids in youtube.
@prototypep48 жыл бұрын
Wrong. To make a cappuccino foam you keep the steam wand at the surface and continue stretching and rolling the milk to create drier foam. For lattes you create a little foam and then lower the wand into the milk more to just heat it.

Y'all, there are multiple ways. Flat whites have extra foam than a normal latté, yet less than a wet cappuccino. Don't argue with me. I'm a barista, so I know my stuff. It also depends on the ratio of espresso to milk, as there is normally more espresso, or it is made with ristretto shots, which is what we have at Starbucks, which is just a 2:1 espresso ratio, opposed to the normal shot ratio of 1:1. Don't argue about flat whites. Each café has there own way of making the flat white, and none are wrong.

There are two different types of interpretations of how to make cappuccinos. Most people think that the foam has to be very thick or stiff. But in Italy the foam on the cappuccinos are a lot more creamy and not as stiff, which is probably why you think it looks just like a latte.
@zachary82246 жыл бұрын
CamposGoon505 nope, lattes have much more milk and very little foam. traditionally wet cappuccinos don’t have much foam.
