The Manhattan, an interesting classic. The first time I tried one I wasn't a fan, but they have grown on me.

I agree, was a little sweet to me, I tend to pour a little heavier on the whiskey for myself now!

Thx for this. I always preferred the perfect over with a touch more dry than sweet. Family friend introduced me to it. Also, always used green olives and no citrus. Though who says no to a little citrus. Love a little dirtiness to it though.

Perfect is such a good balance of dry and sweet!! :) Thanks Chris!! Isolation is not great for me, so being able to see some family and friends the last couple weeks gave me that energy again!! 🙌🙌 Can't wait to see more of your videos as well man!

Manhattans used to be my go to! Still order them out sometimes when I don't just want to drink my bourbon on the rocks.

Once you find that whiskey you really like, its hard to just beat whiskey on the rocks! :)

I definitely prefer a perfect manhattan, with an extra dash of bitters. Perfect holiday time cocktail.

I was at a bar recently and a patron ordered a ‘perfect old fashioned.’ I thought perhaps he knew something I didn’t but it turned out he had no idea what he was ordering. 😂

As Chief Ten Bears said to the Outlaw Josey Wales, "There is truth in your words of Vermouth". So how do you justify using that nasty Gallo dry vermouth? You have to take a Manhattan seriously, because ... nuance... absolutely. I like exploring all the variations, but my go-to mix is 1 oz Rye (Jack Daniels), 1 oz Bourbon (Jack Daniels or Larceny), half oz red vermouth (Mi& Rossi), half oz extra dry white (Mi & Rossi) and Angostura Orange bitters, garnish with BadaBing Cherry. For me, these brands are affordable standards that work extremely will in the mix. Put the BadaBing cherries in the glasses (because I know I will drink more than one) and put them in the freezer about an hour beforehand. My oh my... I could knock back those Perfect Manhattan's all day.

Is a perfect Manhattan not one that splits vermouth with amaro?

Legally, if it's under 80 proof, is it still whiskey?

Not to be disrespectful but why do you stir it like that? Looks like a lot of strain to your wrist when you can just grip it straight with your wrist straight.

It was really the set up of the bar where I learned, I could reach down and do other tasks while stirring this way.. and I just kind of kept the habit. I don't even think about it at this point! lol
