This actually makes sense. Overcharged metal ions separated by electrolytic solution with undercharged metal on the other side. Amazing
@Vivelehive3 жыл бұрын
what do you mean by undercharged metal? the aluminum? do you think one could use other metals like lead to still make a battery like this?
@DIOBrando-ur5we3 жыл бұрын
@@Vivelehive basically if you look in the periodic table of elements,youll see metals in different groups. Metals like to lose their valence electrons which is their outermost electrons to form cations. And generally metals at the bottom of a group lose their electrons more easily. Also as you go from group to group the metals lose their electrons less easily. Which is why group one metals react explosively with pretty much anything. Sodium and potassium literally explode in water. Go figure. For example when silver and zinc are used. Silver is in group 11 and zinc is in group 12. Silver is more likely to lose an electron than zinc. And thats exactly what happens.

Pretty cool, Dave! By the way, for those who didn't know, the word *battery* can be used to describe *an array of similar things* , which can be used for example to describe a group of similar artillery/cannons. After watching this video everyone can draw the conclusion that a battery is *an array of similar stacked cells* , but a lot of the batteries today are actually single cells instead.

If they are single cells, they are not batteries. Batteries are more than one cell stacked together.

If you make earths crust as your dielectric and electrolyte by nailing dissimilar metals into earth and then connecting them in series and parallel combination for good amount of volts and amps, you will have unlimited power since earth is a natural highly electrically charged capacitor powered by thousands of lightning bolts hitting earth everyday. Nikola Tesla was doing similar with his Tesla tower, taking electricity from the earth and discharging it in the form of lightning bolts from the top of Tesla tower.
@kronos9364 жыл бұрын
@Sans The Skeleton explain
@Xeno_Bardock4 жыл бұрын
Yes he did but he also got more energy out than he put in because he got it from inside the earth. Earth is a highly electrically charged capacitor. Ionosphere plasma is the positive terminal, air and earths crust is the dielectric and metals inside the earth is the negative terminal. Also there is more to Tesla towers than what's generally known, research electrical engineer Eric Dollard on it. Check videos: Eric Dollard - Longitudinal Energy (Scalar Waves - Mutual Induction - Wireless Transmission of DC) Eric Dollard - The Tesla-Marconi Wireless System Also youtube search "Birkeland Currents". Earth is electrically connected to the Sun and cosmos via birkeland currents.

@memespoon1343 жыл бұрын
nah the vinegar will dry out eventually or corrode the metal enough to make it not conductive. vinegar is chemically known as acetic acid, it still is one of the weakest acids, but it still can corrode things over a long period of time.

Make sure the LED is connected the right way around or it won't work. The longer "leg" on the LED is positive, the shorter one is negative.

But the remote did
@loganpedersen99064 жыл бұрын
It makes “cents” that the tv remote worked because he had 4 volts from his battery and the 2 AA batteries would make the remote run at 3 volts... 4 > 3

Eventually , all the mass from one side of the electrode will deposit on the other causing the current not to flow.Thus eventually your aluminum should deteriorate , the reaction occurring here is Al(s) -> Al3+(aq) +3e- E=1.68V Cu2+ +2e- -> Cu(s) E=+0.34 Overall Reaction: 2Al(s) +3Cu2+(aq) -> 2Al3+(aq) +3Cu(s) E=2.02v As you can see the aluminum will be used up and more copper will form.Thus this system wont be infinite instead it will be used up.From the standard reduction table we should have around 2.02 Volts per set i think he was using 5 sets and because of the inefficiency he was producing around 4 volts.
