HOW TO: Make a coolant reservoir tank

That came out really pretty when done. Searched google for custom coolant reservoir and found your vid. I'd use a Jim Beam Red Stag bottle in my ride if I wasn't worried about an officer using it as an "open container" excuse.

I’ve been wanting to do this to my S10s since my tank is broken but everyone’s been telling me that it needs an over flow hose n ventilation since it will just be creating pressure n could affect the cooling system

I haven't had any issues but if anything I can put a secondary hose on the top as a breather so it will have an air escape n no additional pressure but I see a lot of other cars with no overflow tank just like mine but plastic so I doubt u will run into problems and I appreciate the comments n views thanks for tuning in and as always let's boooost!!!!

Looks like I’m late to the party. I did this to a stolichnya bottle and it blows the cap off everytime I get a new one, so by theory I believe that it does need ventilation

Holds up good just one thing I added was a soft backing where the bottle touches metal because it was rattling around a lil bit so I put an 1/8" foam tape on the back to keep it from hitting the fender well where i put it

@@baggednboosted9951 one more question cause I wanta get it right. Should I seal the tube or should I drill 2 holes in the cap one for the hose and one for a breather tube?

@coreysease I personally sealed it with hot glue with just the hole for the hose no breather but that's just my preference some ppl drill holes at the top with an overflow that's drips to the ground basically another long hose that leads past the frame by a small amount so u dont get ur frame all wet so honestly it's up to u how u want to do it. I personally dont feel it necessary in my application at the moment since I wont be running this motor overly hot where an overflow hose would be needed. In a future high coolant output situation I would. So it depends on what u want and what ur doing with ur car

Should prolly use an actual gasket maker instead of hot glue.. coolant tends to get a lot warmer then the melting point of glue and idk bout you Guys but I’m not running glue through my block

I used a plastic coke bottle.....easily replaced....cheaper than summit or jegs 90 dollar aluminum🤠😎🤓
