Yo, love your videos, super inspiring. I'm toying with the idea of picking up an E36 318i (1994). I kind of want to learn how to drift on something with low power. Should I go for it or do you think I would be better off starting with something bigger?

I think it's a good idea to start out on something low power like the 318i, especially if you're just starting out. You'll be a much better driver later on if you can learn to drift with low power. That's not to say you shouldn't get something like a 325i or 328i if the right deal comes along since those are still relatively low power cars with the potential for high power in the future. I guess my point is that you shouldn't worry about having a ton of power starting out and it's best to keep things as simple as possible. Seat time is key.

what was the tank you were using before? I bought the raised filler neck from chase bays, but dont know exactly how you had the expansion hose ran. I am trying to limit as many coolant lines as possible. I am curious to see how you get it to run back into the system without using the spider hose under the intake.

So with the expansion tank, once the pressure in the system exceeds the cap rating it’ll vent coolant into the tank. Then when the system cools down it sucks the coolant right back into the system. The tank I was using before was just a universal tank from autozone.

Just curious, what did you do about the tank sensor that comes on the stock expansion tank?

It’s not necessary with this setup so I just disregarded it. The stock reservoir actually feeds the entire system so that sensor is just there to tell you if your coolant is low. I simplified the entire cooling system so I’m just running the two radiator hose with an inline filler neck in the upper hose. The tank I installed is just there for the coolant to go to when it vents from the inline filler neck as the coolant expands. When the system cools back down the system sucks up however much coolant it needs from the expansion tank.

So we're Is your lower coolant hose at now? The one that that comes from the back of the engine. And attaches to the bottom of the OEM coolant reservoir. ​@@JamDrifts
